## About the Role
The Senior FinOps Analyst will support the IT Ops & Cloud area in ensuring cloud usage is governed, standardized, efficient, and aligned with corporate and regulatory requirements. The role focuses on financial governance for cloud environments, with an emphasis on cost optimization, operational efficiency, and closer alignment between Technology, Business, and Finance.
This position is intended to strengthen FinOps maturity across the organization. The analyst will help ensure cloud investments are sustainable, traceable, and generate measurable value through disciplined cost management, reporting, and process improvement.
The role works closely with infrastructure, architecture, engineering, security, and finance teams, as well as squads and business unit points of contact.
## Key Responsibilities
– Execute FinOps playbook routines.
– Drive cloud cost optimization initiatives, including rightsizing, reservations, savings plans, and automation-based shutdowns.
– Analyze cloud consumption and recommend improvements based on data.
– Collect and consolidate usage and consumption data.
– Support validation of billing, invoices, and tax invoices.
– Review tagging compliance and cost allocation.
– Monitor anomalies and log incidents.
– Record and track recommendations.
– Produce recurring reports and maintain dashboards.
– Maintain evidence and documentation for the area.
– Support squads and business unit focal points.
– Track KPIs related to efficiency, predictability, and cost accountability.
– Develop automations and integrations for cloud financial management.
## Required Skills
– Strong knowledge of cloud governance, usage measurement, and billing models.
– Advanced experience with native cloud tools, including Azure Cost Management + Billing, AWS Cost Explorer, and GCP Billing Reports.
– Advanced experience with market tools such as Cloud8, PierCloud, CloudHealth, and/or Cloudability.
– Experience implementing and managing tagging strategies, chargeback/showback, budgets, alerts, and dashboards.
– Experience with cloud contracts, including EA, MCA, RI, SP, and Commitment Usages.
– Completed higher education degree.
## Preferred Skills
– Experience with the FinOps.org framework and FOCUS.
– FinOps certification (Certified Practitioner).
– Certification from a cloud provider such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud.
