## About the Role
Within Finance & Strategy, the Product Finance team works closely with Engineering, Product, Accounting, Procurement, and other partners to support investment decisions across DoorDash’s technology ecosystem. This Senior Associate role focuses primarily on cloud infrastructure and broader engineering technology spend, with the goal of improving financial visibility, forecasting, and efficient resource allocation as the company scales.
You will be part of a remote team, with opportunities to connect in person with the wider Finance & Strategy group several times a year. Team members may also work from the Toronto office or Vancouver coworking spaces if preferred. The role reports to a US-based Finance & Strategy Manager.
The position is well suited to someone who enjoys working with large datasets, technical subject matter, and structured financial processes, and who can turn detailed analysis into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
## Key Responsibilities
– Own recurring reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis for a large engineering technology spend portfolio, with primary coverage of cloud infrastructure and additional coverage of R&D software.
– Partner with Engineering, Cloud FinOps, Accounting, and other stakeholders to understand spend drivers, investigate variances, and identify efficiency opportunities.
– Support monthly close activities, including accrual estimates, reconciliation of operational data to booked actuals, and review of material variances.
– Lead quarterly and annual planning for areas of ownership, including demand forecasting and trade-off evaluation.
– Build and maintain financial models and reporting that give leadership visibility into trends, risks, opportunities, and budget performance.
– Analyze financial, usage, and technical data to identify root causes and develop actionable recommendations.
– Evaluate investment and cost optimization opportunities and quantify their expected financial impact.
– Improve recurring financial processes through better data, automation, documentation, and AI-enabled tools.
## Required Skills
– 4+ years of relevant experience in Strategic Finance, Corporate Finance, FP&A, Investment Banking, Consulting, FinOps, or a similar analytical role.
– Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
– Experience owning or supporting budgets, forecasts, or financial reporting for a large or complex spend area.
– Comfort working with large datasets and combining financial data with operational or business metrics.
– Basic SQL proficiency, or a strong willingness to learn SQL.
– Intellectual curiosity and comfort learning technical subject matter.
– Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in recurring processes such as monthly close, forecasting, and financial planning.
– Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments and structure complex problems.
– Strong cross-functional communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
– Comfort with, or willingness to learn, practical applications of AI in financial modeling, reporting, and analysis.

– Analyze cloud infrastructure spend and understand the technical and operational drivers behind it.
– Work with Engineering and Cloud FinOps to separate business growth from inefficiency and identify utilization improvements.
– Support cost-effectiveness and optimization decisions by quantifying financial impact.
– Improve cloud-related financial processes through stronger data, automation, documentation, and AI-enabled tools.

– Base salary is location-based, with a British Columbia range of CAD $115,500–$144,500.
