## About the Role
The FinOps Engineering Tech Lead will spearhead the implementation of enterprise cloud financial management across various platforms, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role exists to enhance transparency and accountability in cloud and AI usage, aligning technical decisions with financial objectives. ## Key Responsibilities
– Develop and execute the FinOps strategy, roadmap, and operating model across AWS, GCP, and other cloud providers.
– Oversee cloud budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, showback, chargeback, and executive reporting.
– Analyze consumption patterns and manage a prioritized backlog for optimization initiatives.
– Collaborate with engineering and application teams to enhance workload design and capacity planning.
– Set up financial management practices for AI projects, covering costs related to tokens, models, and other resources.
– Implement cost-tracking mechanisms and financial guardrails in infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
– Translate insights into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
– Mentor and lead engineering and analyst teams to foster cloud financial accountability.
## Required Skills
– Minimum of 6 years in cloud engineering, architecture, or financial management.
– Strong analytical abilities for detailed and strategic decision-making.
– Proven leadership skills with experience in using tools like Jira.
– In-depth knowledge of AWS and GCP services, pricing models, and billing.
– Experience in managing AI economics, including cost forecasting and optimization.
– Ability to convert complex technical data into financial narratives.
– Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
– Relevant university degree or equivalent experience.
– FinOps certification and/or AWS or GCP certifications are preferred.
– Experience in a regulated enterprise or financial services environment.
