# FinOps Specialist

## About the Role

AUBAY is seeking a FinOps Specialist to manage and optimize AWS Cloud expenditure. The role connects technical cloud consumption with financial decision-making.

The successful candidate will work closely with Finance and senior leadership, providing cost analysis, governance, forecasting, and optimization recommendations. The position will also support migration planning through scenario-based cost projections.

## Key Responsibilities

– Monitor and analyze AWS Cloud spending using AWS Cost Explorer, Cost and Usage Report, AWS Budgets, and Cost Anomaly Detection.
– Manage Savings Plans and Reserved Instances, including purchase timing and coverage requirements.
– Ensure accurate financial tagging and cost allocation.
– Operate Showback and Chargeback models by department or project.
– Identify rightsizing and continuous optimization opportunities.
– Use AWS Compute Optimizer and AWS Trusted Advisor to support optimization activities.
– Analyze consolidated AWS invoices and organization-level billing.
– Manage Cloud budgets, alerts, and spending governance processes.
– Translate Cloud expenditure into financial information for Finance and senior leadership.
– Analyze the PPA, including annual commitments, discounts, and credits.
– Prepare cost projections for different migration scenarios.
