# FinOps Specialist – Cloud Strategy

## About the Role

Deloitte is seeking a FinOps Specialist to support the financial management and optimization of cloud environments. The role combines cloud strategy, artificial intelligence, and FinOps to improve cost efficiency and spending transparency for organizations across multiple sectors.

You will help design and implement FinOps practices, analyze cloud costs and usage, and define policies and roadmaps for optimizing cloud investment. The position involves working with clients, technical teams, financial stakeholders, and subject-matter experts.

Your work will contribute to cost governance, reporting automation, AI-enabled FinOps activities, cloud waste reduction, and the sustainable financial management of cloud environments.

## Key Responsibilities

– Manage cloud cost visibility and allocation through showback and chargeback models.
– Analyze the root causes of cloud overspending, including overprovisioning, underutilized resources, configuration errors, and inefficient usage.
– Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define and track cloud cost-optimization initiatives.
– Address waste management, consumption management, purchasing strategy, and success-fee-based savings models.
– Support the definition of AI agents that enhance existing tools for cloud cost management and optimization.
– Optimize costs associated with AI technologies, including OpenAI, Claude, Copilot, and client-developed models.
– Manage and optimize costs across data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, and Microsoft Fabric.
– Prepare cloud cost forecasts based on existing and planned workloads.
– Estimate cloud costs for new deployments and environments.
– Define and promote FinOps policies and best practices for ongoing cost management.
– Recommend tagging strategies to support accurate cost visibility before showback and chargeback.
– Track optimization initiatives and quantify avoided costs.
– Assess the cost-performance relationship of workloads to promote efficient resource usage.

## Required Skills

– Three to five years of professional experience.
– FinOps Practitioner certification.
– FinOps for AI certification.
– Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, including their cost structures.
– Experience managing cloud costs in a provider-agnostic environment.
– Knowledge of cloud cost-management platforms such as CloudHealth, Cloudability, or Flexera.
– Analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
– Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
– Basic scripting and automation knowledge, such as Python or PowerShell, to support FinOps processes.
