In this role, you will lead the strategy and execution of cloud financial operations, ensuring that cloud investments deliver maximum business value, scalability, and performance. You will operate at the intersection of engineering, finance, and operations, driving cost optimization and financial transparency across a complex SaaS environment. This position combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, requiring both high-level vision and deep analytical capabilities. You will build and lead a FinOps function that transforms cloud usage data into actionable insights and governance frameworks. Working in a fast-paced, high-growth setting, you will influence executive decision-making and shape the financial efficiency of cloud infrastructure. Accountabilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive cloud financial management framework, including budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation, and unit economics
Lead cloud cost optimization initiatives such as reserved instances, savings plans, right-sizing, and resource utilization improvements
Partner with engineering, product, and operations teams to embed cost visibility, accountability, and FinOps best practices into daily workflows
Establish governance models, including tagging standards, cost controls, and approval processes for cloud usage
Deliver executive-level reporting on cloud spend, trends, risks, and optimization opportunities
Build and lead a high-performing FinOps team, driving strategy, execution, and cross-functional collaboration
Collaborate with finance teams to align cloud costs with financial planning, pricing strategies, and business case development
Support major initiatives such as product launches, cloud migrations, and M&A through financial modeling and forecasting
Translate technical cloud metrics into business insights that inform growth, profitability, and scalability decisions
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
10-15 years of experience in cloud financial management, FinOps, or technology finance within SaaS or large-scale cloud environments
At least 5 years of leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional initiatives
Proven expertise in cloud cost optimization, governance, and financial modeling
Deep understanding of public cloud pricing models (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cost management tools
Strong analytical and data visualization skills (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau)
Experience aligning cloud spend with business metrics such as unit economics, ARR, and margins
Ability to influence senior stakeholders and present insights at executive and board levels
Familiarity with automation, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud architecture concepts
Preferred: FinOps or cloud certifications, advanced degree (MBA or similar), and experience with scripting or analytics tools (SQL, Python)
