# Job Description: Finance Analyst

## About the Role
We are looking for a Finance Analyst to join our team remotely from anywhere within the United States. In this role, you will provide critical operational expenditure (OPEX) support to the Splunk Product Organization. Your main responsibilities will include aiding in forecasting, reporting, and strategic investment decisions, which will significantly influence the financial direction of the business.

Collaborating with engineering leadership, product management, HR, talent acquisition, and accounting teams, you will help establish best practices that optimize financial performance. Your analytical skills will be essential for modeling headcount costs, discretionary expenses, and uncovering opportunities for cost management based on organizational priorities.

This position offers a chance to impact business planning and strategic decision-making processes, including budgeting, portfolio planning, and quarterly commitments. You will also support monthly close activities such as accruals and variance analysis, ensuring compliance and accuracy in forecasting and reporting by applying your knowledge of GAAP and Cisco’s accounting policies.

## Key Responsibilities
– Provide OPEX support within the Splunk Product Organization.
