## About the Role

AUBAY is seeking a FinOps Specialist to manage and optimize AWS cloud expenditure. The role will connect technical cloud consumption with financial decision-making.

The successful candidate will work closely with Finance and senior leadership to provide cost visibility, support cloud governance, evaluate commercial commitments, and translate cloud spending into financial analysis.

## Key Responsibilities

– Monitor and analyze AWS expenditure using Cost Explorer, Cost and Usage Reports, Budgets, and Cost Anomaly Detection.
– Manage Savings Plans and Reserved Instances, including purchase timing and required coverage levels.
– Maintain tagging and cost allocation practices, ensuring financial tags are present and accurate.
– Operate showback and chargeback models by business area or project.
– Identify rightsizing and ongoing optimization opportunities using AWS Compute Optimizer and Trusted Advisor.
– Review consolidated AWS invoices and organization-level billing.
– Manage cloud budgets, alerts, and spending governance mechanisms.
– Collaborate with Finance and senior leadership on cloud cost analysis.
– Analyze PPA terms, including annual commitments, discounts, and credits.
– Produce cost projections for different migration scenarios.

## Required Skills

– Experience with AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Cost and Usage Reports, AWS Budgets, and AWS Cost Anomaly Detection.
– Knowledge of Savings Plans and Reserved Instances.
– Experience with tagging, cost allocation, showback, and chargeback.
– Understanding of rightsizing and continuous cloud cost optimization.
– Experience using AWS Compute Optimizer and AWS Trusted Advisor.
– Ability to analyze consolidated AWS invoices and organization-level billing.
– Experience managing cloud budgets, alerts, and governance.
– Ability to work with Finance and senior leadership.
– Knowledge of PPA terms, including annual commitments, discounts, and credits.
– Ability to project costs across different migration scenarios.

## Certifications

– AWS Cloud Practitioner certification — minimum recommended.
– FinOps Foundation Certified Practitioner (FOCP).
