## About the Role
This position is responsible for the governance and financial management of enterprise software, SaaS subscriptions, and broader technology spend. The goal is to improve visibility into usage, strengthen licensing compliance, and help the business make better investment decisions.
Reporting to technology leadership, this role works closely with Cloud Infrastructure, Procurement, Finance, Security, and Enterprise Architecture. It blends financial analysis, operational discipline, and technical understanding to turn consumption data into actions that reduce cost, improve utilization, and maximize value.
## Key Responsibilities
– Manage the full lifecycle of software assets, subscriptions, and licensing agreements, including entitlements, renewals, and vendor commitments.
– Build and maintain SAM and SaaS governance processes that improve visibility into inventory, usage, and consumption.
– Oversee licensing compliance work, including audit readiness, true-ups, and vendor reporting.
– Identify savings opportunities through reclamation, rightsizing, consolidation, and usage-based cost reduction.
– Analyze spend across SaaS applications, cloud platforms, and infrastructure tools to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
– Partner with Finance and Procurement on budgeting, forecasting, vendor negotiations, and technology investment planning.
– Establish governance for software acquisition, renewals, and lifecycle planning aligned with organizational and financial objectives.
– Develop dashboards, reporting, and analytics covering utilization, compliance, spend trends, renewal forecasts, and optimization opportunities.
– Support chargeback and showback approaches that improve transparency for technology consumption.
– Work with FinOps and Cloud Infrastructure teams on cloud cost optimization initiatives.
– Support cloud licensing optimization programs such as Azure Hybrid Benefit and BYOL.
– Review developer tooling, SaaS adoption, and platform usage to ensure alignment with business needs.
– Support vendor management activities, including renewals, licensing evaluations, and cost-saving opportunities.
– Present recommendations and financial insights to leadership and other stakeholders.
– Drive continuous improvement through automation, data analysis, and operational best practices.
## Required Skills
– 5+ years of experience in Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management, FinOps, Procurement, Technology Finance, or a related discipline.
– Experience managing enterprise software licensing programs and vendor agreements in large-scale technology environments.
– Strong understanding of SaaS consumption models, software licensing structures, and enterprise software governance.
– Experience analyzing technology spend, utilization data, and consumption trends to support optimization and decision-making.
– Knowledge of cloud financial management principles and technology cost optimization strategies.
– Demonstrated ability to build forecasting models, business cases, executive reporting, and performance dashboards.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate technical and financial information into actionable recommendations.
– Experience collaborating with Finance, Procurement, Infrastructure, Security, Architecture, and business stakeholders.
– Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
– Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
## Preferred Skills
– Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field.
– Experience managing enterprise licensing programs for Microsoft, Adobe, VMware, Oracle, ServiceNow, or similar technologies.
– Experience with Azure Cost Management, Cloudability, Flexera, Zylo, ServiceNow SAM, or comparable platforms.
– FinOps Foundation certification, CSAM, ITAM, or related professional certification.
– Experience supporting enterprise licensing agreements such as EA, MCA, CSP, or similar programs.
– Familiarity with cloud governance frameworks, tagging strategies, and cost allocation methods.
– Experience supporting software audit readiness, compliance initiatives, and vendor contract negotiations.

## FinOps Responsibilities
– Improve visibility into cloud and SaaS spend.

## Compensation
– Estimated salary range: $88,900.00 to $155,500.00.
– Role is incentive eligible.
– Compensation is based on skills, experience, organizational needs, and geographic factors; offers typically fall below the top of the range.
