## About the Role
This role sits within a Technology Finance function that supports how the business plans and manages spend across cloud, AI, software, and other technology investments. It exists to improve financial discipline while enabling the company to scale profitably.
You will partner closely with Engineering, Product, IT, and Legal teams as the finance lead for technology costs. The scope includes planning, forecasting, reporting, and optimization across cloud hosting, AI/LLM usage, SaaS subscriptions, product partner costs, and infrastructure-related expenses.
The role is intended to strengthen visibility into cost drivers, vendor economics, and investment returns. It also contributes to better decision-making on technology spend, with a direct link to product innovation, customer experience, gross margins, and profitability.
## Key Responsibilities
– Own budgeting, forecasting, and monthly tracking of cloud, AI/LLM, SaaS, product partner, infrastructure, security tool, and other technology costs.
– Build cost-centre visibility and accountability across technology spend.
– Lead monthly forecast cycles, including variance analysis and actionable reporting.
– Analyse actual vs. budget vs. forecast performance and explain key variances.
– Develop driver-based forecasting models for technology costs.
– Support the annual operating plan and quarterly re-forecast processes.
– Create dashboards and reporting for technology leadership.
– Identify cost-optimization opportunities and track their realization.
– Monitor the unit economics of technology spend.
– Serve as the finance point of contact for technology vendors and partners.
– Review commercial proposals, renewal quotes, pricing structures, invoices, and contract terms.
– Analyse vendor spend trends and support onboarding and renewal processes.
– Partner with Engineering, Product, IT, and Legal teams on investment decisions and business cases.
– Challenge spend decisions using ROI analysis and commercial judgement.
## Required Skills
– CA or MBA in Finance.
– 3–5 years of experience in FP&A, Business Finance, Commercial Finance, Technology Finance, or Procurement Finance.
– Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
– Financial modelling experience.
– Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.
– Understanding of SaaS business models.
– Strong capability in vendor cost analysis, contract interpretation, invoice validation, pricing analysis, and spend governance.
## Preferred Skills
– Experience managing or analysing AWS, Azure, or GCP spend.
– Experience with AI/LLM costs.
– Experience with SaaS subscription costs.
– Experience with product partner and marketplace costs.
– Experience in technology procurement and vendor management.
