# Platform Engineering Lead
**Zoop** | Full-time | Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad
## About the Role
Zoop is looking for a hands-on Platform Engineering Lead to help move its infrastructure from strong DevOps foundations into a more mature, platform-led operating model. This role sits at the intersection of engineering speed, reliability, security, and cost discipline.
You will own the platform roadmap and work across both architecture and implementation. The goal is to build reusable platform capabilities that help product teams ship with confidence, while reducing operational overhead and improving developer experience.
The role also supports Zoop’s next phase of growth by making cloud cost, security, and reliability more predictable and easier to manage. It includes work on scalable AI, data, and MLOps foundations.
## Key Responsibilities
– Own platform and cloud architecture across GCP and AWS.
– Design reusable platform patterns rather than isolated infrastructure solutions.
– Build and improve the internal developer platform, including self-service environments, golden paths, templates, and guardrails.
– Lead Kubernetes and cloud-native adoption at scale.
– Automate infrastructure using Terraform, Pulumi, or similar IaC tools.
– Strengthen CI/CD with quality gates, production readiness standards, testing, and safer release practices.
– Define and track golden signals, SLIs/SLOs, and incident response processes.
– Improve observability and reduce operational toil across infrastructure and applications.
– Build security into infrastructure and pipelines by default.
– Lead readiness for DPDP Act (India), ISO 27001:2022, and SOC 2 Type II.
– Implement zero-trust principles, least-privilege access, and data isolation.
– Establish FinOps practices, including budgets, alerts, and optimization routines.
– Support secure and scalable ML/MLOps foundations.
– Define guardrails for AI workloads and sensitive data handling.
– Mentor engineers and help teams adapt to change while keeping execution practical.
## Required Skills
– 6–8+ years of experience building and operating production infrastructure.
– Experience scaling platforms in high-growth or regulated environments.
– Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and the cloud-native ecosystem.
– Experience with service mesh and policy engines.
– Experience across GCP, AWS, and Azure.
– Practical experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
– Understanding of SDLC and CI/CD systems, including Jenkins or GitOps.
– Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and New Relic.
– Ability to read and contribute to systems written in Go, Python, or Node.js.
– Practical experience delivering ISO 27001 and SOC 2 controls.
– Strong understanding of data protection, privacy, and access control.
– Analytical, cost-aware, and reliability-focused mindset.
– Collaborative approach, calm under pressure, and openness to feedback.
– Comfort with saying no when needed and explaining the reasoning.
## Preferred Skills
– Experience in fintech, identity, or regulated domains.
– Experience building internal developer platforms or shared infrastructure tooling.
– Open-source contributions.
