## About the Role
This is a full-time Platforms Lead role based in Pune, Bangalore, or Hyderabad, with a salary range of Rs 3,000,000–5,000,000 (INR 30–50 LPA). It is intended for a candidate with 6+ years of experience who can help a scaling engineering organization balance delivery speed with stability, security, reliability, and cost efficiency.
The role is focused on turning engineering infrastructure into a mature, platform-led environment that gives teams clear standards, self-service capabilities, and more confidence in shipping changes. It spans platform engineering, cloud architecture, DevOps, security, compliance, reliability, and developer experience, with close collaboration across engineering and product teams.
This is a hands-on leadership position that combines strategic direction with deep technical execution. The objective is to make cloud usage more predictable, reduce operational complexity, strengthen CI/CD confidence, and support secure foundations for AI/ML workloads and sensitive data.
## Key Responsibilities
### Platform & Cloud Architecture
– Own and evolve platform and cloud architecture across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
– Create reusable platform patterns instead of one-off infrastructure solutions.
– Build internal developer platform capabilities, including self-service environments, golden paths, paved roads, templates, and engineering guardrails.
– Lead Kubernetes and cloud-native platform adoption.
– Automate infrastructure with Terraform, Pulumi, or similar Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
### CI/CD, Reliability & Developer Experience
– Establish strong CI/CD practices with automated quality gates and deployment readiness checks.
– Improve testing, deployment safety, release confidence, and developer productivity.
– Define and monitor SLIs, SLOs, golden signals, and incident response practices.
– Reduce operational toil through platform improvements.
– Build scalable observability systems using Grafana, Prometheus, and New Relic.
– Help teams integrate observability into applications and services.
### Security, Privacy & Compliance
– Embed security by default across infrastructure and delivery pipelines.
– Support readiness and implementation for ISO 27001:2022, SOC 2 Type II, and DPDP Act compliance.
– Implement zero-trust security, least-privilege access, and secure data isolation.
– Drive governance, vulnerability management, and infrastructure security standards.
### FinOps & Optimization
– Improve cloud cost visibility and accountability across engineering teams.
– Implement budgets, alerts, reporting, and optimization routines.
– Support build-vs-buy decisions using ROI-focused thinking.
– Improve infrastructure efficiency.
### AI, Data & MLOps Foundations
– Enable secure and scalable infrastructure foundations for AI/ML workloads.
– Define guardrails for AI workloads and sensitive data handling.
### Leadership & Collaboration
– Work closely with engineering and product teams to align platform direction with business goals.
– Mentor engineers and guide teams through platform and infrastructure changes.
– Lead long-term strategic initiatives while staying hands-on and pragmatic.
## Required Skills
– 6-8+ years of experience building and operating production-grade infrastructure and cloud platforms.
– Experience scaling infrastructure in high-growth or regulated environments.
– Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native ecosystems.
– Strong hands-on experience with service mesh and policy engines.
– Experience with AWS, GCP, and Azure.
– Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
– Strong understanding of SDLC, CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, and GitOps workflows.
– Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, and New Relic.
– Ability to read and contribute to systems written in Go, Python, or Node.js.
– Practical experience implementing ISO 27001 and SOC 2 security controls.
– Strong understanding of privacy, data protection, and access control mechanisms.
## Preferred Skills
– DevOps, GCP, SecOps, FinOps, Docker & Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, platform engineering, cloud security, and observability/monitoring.
– Experience in fintech, identity, or regulated industries.
– Prior experience building Internal Developer Platforms or shared infrastructure tooling.
– Contributions to open-source projects.
– Strong ownership mindset with a bias for action.
– Reliability-focused, analytical, and cost-conscious decision-making.
– Comfort operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
– Collaborative communication with the ability to balance technical excellence and business priorities.
