# Senior Financial Analyst, Core Services
## About the Role
The Senior Financial Analyst for Core Services at Mozilla will play a crucial role in financial planning, reporting, and analysis to support various functions within the organization. This position is essential for preparing forecasts, reconciling actuals, and ensuring accurate headcount and vendor tracking. The analyst will work closely with the Finance Manager and collaborate across teams to deliver meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making.
This role is designed for a detail-oriented individual who can translate financial variances into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders while managing competing deadlines. The analyst will have opportunities to improve existing processes and contribute to the overall effectiveness of financial operations.
## Key Responsibilities
– Prepare and manage the Core Services forecast each cycle, including cost center details and documentation of variances.
– Assemble monthly budget updates, detailing budget variances and analysis for budget owners and the COO.
– Collaborate with Accounting during the monthly close process to ensure accuracy of actuals, accruals, and forecasts.
– Maintain headcount tracking and coordinate with relevant teams on position updates.
– Monitor vendor and cloud spending; analyze spending patterns and identify anomalies.
– Explore and implement AI and automation solutions to enhance financial processes.
– Support Core Services teams by addressing data and reporting inquiries.
## Required Skills
– Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including full budget and forecast cycles.
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
– Advanced skills in financial modeling and spreadsheet management.
– Familiarity with enterprise planning tools (e.g., Pigment, Adaptive) and accounting systems (preferably NetSuite).
– Understanding of accounting principles, particularly accruals and the close cycle.
– Ability to interpret cloud cost reports and engage with technical teams.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
## Preferred Skills
– Experience in shared-services finance or supporting technical functions.
– Knowledge of automation tools or AI-assisted workflows in a financial context.
– Familiarity with BI tools, SQL, Python, or similar data querying languages.
