# Principal – Finance Operations
## About the Role
The Principal – Finance Operations will transform Technology Finance Operations from a manual, spreadsheet-based function into an AI-enabled, systems-oriented operating model. The role will establish the business and financial operating cadence for Technology Operations and improve planning, governance, execution, and performance measurement across capital and operating investments.
The position will lead the redesign of the FY28 budget process and modernize how Product, Engineering, and Design triads work with PMO partners, business stakeholders, and executives. It will also build scalable operating systems supporting a $300M+ Product & Technology portfolio.
Technology Operations is evolving toward OKR-driven governance, vendor-enabled efficiency, strategic hub location planning, and AI-supported process automation. The role will collaborate with Technology, Finance, Sourcing, Human Resources, the PMO, external vendors, and senior leadership.
The position reports to the Vice President – Head of Financial Operations.
## Key Responsibilities
– Own the Technology Operations business management function across planning, forecasting, decision support, governance, and execution.
– Lead the redesign of the FY28 budget process.
– Oversee the operating cadence for the $300M+ Product & Technology budget.
– Replace manual financial and operational workflows with automation, intelligent workflows, and scalable management systems.
– Translate strategic priorities into annual and multi-year operating plans with Finance, Sourcing, Human Resources, PMO, Technology leadership, and other stakeholders.
– Strengthen planning discipline, accountability, decision-making, and transparency across Product, Engineering, and Design triads.
– Develop and maintain executive dashboards, KPIs, and operating reviews.
– Govern vendors and investments across the Technology portfolio.
– Establish financial controls and governance for planning, forecasting, reporting, capitalization, and monthly operating reviews.
– Identify cost optimization opportunities while maintaining service quality, resiliency, and long-term transformation objectives.
– Improve business operations, financial stewardship, standardization, and execution practices.
## Required Skills
– 12+ years of experience in business operations, financial operations, FP&A, PMO, strategic planning, or related leadership roles supporting technology, infrastructure, or enterprise operations.
– Experience managing budgets, forecasts, business cases, capitalization planning, and executive financial reporting in complex organizations.
– Experience redesigning operating models, governance frameworks, planning processes, or business management functions.
– Demonstrated success leading cross-functional transformation in ambiguous, high-impact environments.
– Ability to influence senior leaders across multiple functions and align organizations without direct authority.
– Expertise in financial operations, vendor management, investment governance, cost optimization, and executive reporting.
– Experience designing executive dashboards, KPIs, and operating review mechanisms.
– Ability to translate strategic priorities into structured plans, measurable outcomes, and repeatable operating systems.
– Experience designing, implementing, or leading adoption of automation, analytics, dashboards, or AI-enabled workflows that materially reduced manual work.
– Comfort working hands-on with automation, advanced analytics, and modern technology to improve cycle time, quality, and operational effectiveness.
– Systems-thinking mindset with sound business judgment and a focus on simplification, standardization, and continuous improvement.
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

– Manage the operating cadence for a $300M+ Product & Technology budget.
– Lead budgeting, forecasting, business case development, capitalization planning, and executive financial reporting.
– Establish governance and controls across planning, forecasting, reporting, capitalization, and monthly operating reviews.
– Oversee vendor and investment governance across the Technology portfolio.
– Identify and deliver cost optimization opportunities.
– Improve financial transparency, accountability, and investment decision-making.
– Replace spreadsheet-driven processes with automated and scalable financial operating systems.
