# Specialist Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis
## About the Role
This role leads a Center of Excellence within Deloitte Technology’s Technology Finance function. It exists to strengthen financial planning, reporting, and analysis quality while connecting team execution to global stakeholder priorities.
The manager will partner with service area, service line, and cost center leaders, along with finance and accounting partners and other TBM teams. The role also manages and develops a team of India-based financial analysts, with responsibility for delivery standards aligned to Level 5 ITFM maturity.
A further focus of the position is building team capability in AI-assisted ways of working. The manager is expected to help analysts adopt automation and generative AI tools in practical finance workflows, improving efficiency while maintaining control and reporting integrity.
## Key Responsibilities
– Lead financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis for assigned stakeholders and business areas.
– Review complex analysis, variance reporting, and reconciliations to identify trends, issues, and efficiency opportunities.
– Develop financial narratives that explain cost drivers, including non-controllable factors.
– Prepare executive-ready updates and presentations for US and regional leadership on deliverables, risks, capacity, and performance.
– Provide analysis, planning support, and ad hoc insight to service area, service line, and cost center leaders.
– Own end-to-end financial management for assigned cost categories such as labor, cloud, hardware, or software.
– Track cost drivers and manage accountability across the full budget lifecycle.
– Maintain master data integrity for the assigned cost category, including WBS codes, cost hierarchies, and allocation rules.
– Collaborate across technology service areas to gather financial intelligence on activities, contracts, and purchases that may affect budgets.
– Escalate financial risks and data quality issues early to protect reporting integrity.
– Oversee work allocation, delegation, supervision, and quality review for India-based analysts.
– Set priorities, coach team members, monitor performance, and support career development.
– Lead hiring, onboarding, and integration of new team members.
– Establish consistent processes, operating rhythms, and quality standards.
– Identify process improvements that increase consistency, efficiency, and transparency.
– Champion AI exploration, automation, and continuous improvement within the team.
## Required Skills
– 10+ years of experience in Technology Finance, FP&A, or technology business management.
– Experience leading or managing financial professionals.
– Strong financial analysis skills, including variance analysis, reconciliations, and cost allocation.
– Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
– Ability to work effectively with globally distributed stakeholders.
– Proven ability to build processes, set operating standards, and drive consistency across a team.
## Preferred Skills
– Experience with ITFM/TBM platforms such as Apptio, ServiceNow ITFM, or equivalent.
– ATUM certification is a plus.
– Experience with SAP, QlikView, Qlik Sense, Tableau, or similar enterprise financial platforms.
– Familiarity with WBS structures, product hierarchies, and TCO modeling.
– Experience in a global or cross-border delivery model.
– Hands-on experience with AI-assisted finance or operations tools, including automation platforms, generative AI writing tools, or data pipeline tools.
– Experience piloting and scaling new tools within a team.
– Experience coaching others in new technology or processes.

## FinOps Responsibilities
– Own financial management for assigned cost categories across the full budget cycle.
– Track and report cost drivers, trends, and variances for categories such as labor, cloud, hardware, or software.
– Maintain governance over master data, WBS structures, cost hierarchies, and allocation rules.
– Gather financial intelligence on activities, contracts, and purchases that may affect budget planning.
– Support reporting integrity expected at Level 5 ITFM maturity.
– Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and transparency in financial reporting.
