## About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, DevOps & Cloud, this role helps establish and run FinOps practices across IT, Finance, and business teams. The focus is on improving cloud financial accountability, cost transparency, and value realization across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

The position is responsible for defining, implementing, and sustaining FinOps processes, including cost allocation, forecasting, optimization, and reporting. It also supports cost-aware decision-making by connecting cloud spend to business outcomes and reinforcing ownership across teams.

In addition, the role contributes to DevOps and automation efforts by embedding cost controls into delivery workflows and supporting cost-efficient architecture decisions.

## Key Responsibilities

– Build and maintain the FinOps operating model, governance policies, and continuous improvement roadmap.
– Define cost allocation models, tagging standards, and ownership structures.
– Lead cost optimization initiatives and validate savings and cost avoidance.
– Manage forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
– Track and report FinOps KPIs such as unit cost, waste, and forecast accuracy.
– Conduct regular cost reviews with engineering and business stakeholders.
– Build dashboards and executive reporting on cloud spend trends and performance.
– Lead cross-functional FinOps forums and communicate insights to leadership.
– Partner with Finance on budgeting and forecasting.
– Work with engineering teams to align spend to value and assign cost ownership.
– Translate cloud costs into business metrics and educate teams on cost-efficient architecture.
– Implement policy-as-code and cost controls in CI/CD pipelines.
– Automate rightsizing, scheduling, and shutdown processes using IaC.
– Evaluate and implement FinOps tools.

## Required Skills

– College diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related area.
– 3+ years of experience in FinOps practices and cloud financial management.
– Strong knowledge of Azure, AWS, or GCP cost structures.
– Experience with Azure Cost Management and AWS Cost Explorer.
– Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cost allocation.
– Strong stakeholder communication skills across IT and Finance.
