## About the Role
Zoop is hiring a hands-on Platform Engineering Lead to help move its infrastructure from strong DevOps foundations to a more mature platform operating model. The role exists to improve delivery speed without sacrificing security, reliability, or cost control as the business scales.

You will own both architecture and implementation across cloud, Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, security, and FinOps. The goal is to create reusable platform patterns and guardrails that reduce friction for product engineering teams.

This is a collaborative leadership role with real influence over how teams build, release, and operate software. You will partner closely with engineers, mentor teams through change, and keep long-term platform work practical and executable.

## Key Responsibilities
– Own cloud and platform architecture across GCP and AWS, and define reusable platform patterns.
– Build the Internal Developer Platform (IDP), including self-service environments, golden paths, standardized templates, and guardrails.
– Lead Kubernetes adoption and automate infrastructure with Terraform, Pulumi, or similar IaC tools.
– Strengthen CI/CD with quality gates, testing, and production-readiness checks.
– Define observability standards, including golden signals, SLIs/SLOs, incident response processes, and cost-efficient monitoring.
– Improve developer experience by reducing operational toil and treating observability as a core part of the infrastructure stack.
– Build security-by-default into infrastructure and pipelines, including zero-trust, least-privilege access, and data isolation.
– Lead implementation and ongoing readiness for the DPDP Act (India), ISO 27001:2022, and SOC 2 Type II.
– Establish FinOps practices that make cloud spend visible, accountable, and actionable.
– Support secure, scalable ML/MLOps foundations and define guardrails for AI workloads and sensitive data.
– Partner with engineering teams, mentor engineers, and drive long-term initiatives with practical execution.

## Required Skills
– 6–8+ years building and running production infrastructure.
– Experience scaling platforms in high-growth or regulated companies.
– Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, the cloud-native ecosystem, service mesh, policy engines, GCP, AWS, Azure, and Terraform or similar IaC tools.
– Solid understanding of SDLC and CI/CD systems such as Jenkins or GitOps.
– Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and New Relic.
– Comfortable reading and contributing to systems written in Go, Python, or Node.js.
– Practical experience delivering ISO 27001 and SOC 2 controls.
– Strong understanding of data protection, privacy, and access control.
– Bias for action, strong judgment, analytical thinking, cost awareness, and reliability focus.
– Collaborative approach, openness to feedback, and comfort saying no when needed, with clear reasoning.

## Preferred Skills
– Experience in fintech, identity, or regulated domains.
– Experience building internal developer platforms or shared infrastructure tooling.
– Contributions to open-source projects.
– Exposure to DevOps, SecOps, and FinOps.
