– Lead cost optimization work such as rightsizing, commitment optimization, idle resource cleanup, storage lifecycle management, and network cost reduction.
– Define, implement, and enforce tagging standards, including governance, automation, and resolution of classification gaps.
– Build and maintain showback and chargeback models to improve cost visibility and accountability.
– Run FinOps review meetings, covering spend trends, anomalies, variances, and optimization recommendations.
– Configure budgets, forecasting models, anomaly detection, and proactive cost alerts.
– Partner with engineering and product teams to embed cost considerations into architecture and application design.
– Support CloudOps and SRE activities, including monitoring, incident response, observability, and Kubernetes efficiency.
– Improve Datadog dashboards and alerts, participate in post-incident reviews, and strengthen Kubernetes resource utilization and cost attribution.
## Required Skills
– 7+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or a related technical function.
– At least 3 years of experience in FinOps, cloud cost management, or platform economics.
– Hands-on experience with GCP cost management tools, including Billing Export, BigQuery cost reporting, GCP Recommender, and Committed Use Discount analysis.
– Working knowledge of AWS cost management services, including Cost Explorer, Savings Plans, Trusted Advisor, and Cost Anomaly Detection.
– Experience with Kubernetes, including node utilization, autoscaling, namespace-level cost allocation, and resource optimization.
– Proficiency with Datadog for monitoring, observability, dashboards, and alert management.
– Experience using Terraform for infrastructure and cost-related configuration.
– Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable cloud cost savings through data-driven initiatives.
– Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
– Experience designing cloud tagging policies and cost allocation frameworks across multi-cloud environments.
## Preferred Skills
– Python or SQL for automation and cost analysis.
