## About the Role
Reporting to the Cost Optimisation Manager, the Cost Optimisation Analyst will help monitor, analyse, and optimise cloud spend across the organisation. The purpose of the role is to improve financial accountability, control cloud expenditure, and support more efficient cloud operations.
This position contributes to budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and governance across multiple cloud platforms. It also supports a stronger culture of cost awareness by turning usage and spend data into clear, actionable insights.
The role works closely with finance, IT, engineering, and product teams. A key part of the job is supporting enterprise AI cost visibility through cost models at the token, model, and agent level.
## Key Responsibilities
– Track cloud usage and spend across multiple platforms, and produce regular reports and dashboards to highlight trends and anomalies.
– Maintain and enforce tagging standards to support accurate cost attribution, chargeback, and showback.
– Support cloud budgeting and forecasting using historical data and growth assumptions, and investigate variances against actual spend.
– Analyse usage patterns to identify waste, underused resources, and overprovisioned assets.
– Recommend and monitor cost-saving actions, including rightsizing and reserved instance opportunities.
– Maintain cloud spending policies, tagging standards, and resource lifecycle controls, and support audit and compliance needs.
– Manage cloud cost tools, automate routine reporting and alerts, and improve cost-control processes.
– Work with engineering, product, finance, and IT stakeholders to improve cost awareness and support optimisation initiatives.
– Build and operationalise AI cost models at the token, model, and agent level to improve enterprise AI cost transparency.
## Required Skills
– Strong understanding of FinOps principles and cloud cost management
– Experience with Azure AI/ML services, including Azure OpenAI
– Experience with Bedrock and emerging AI/ML platforms
– Background in data engineering and/or analytics
– Advanced Excel skills
– Understanding of distributed systems and API-based consumption models
– Strong analytical skills
– Process improvement mindset with the ability to drive automation and efficiency
– Experience working with complex data sets and strong attention to detail
– Experience in a multinational, matrix organisation with multiple legal and group entities
– Excellent organisational, written, and verbal communication skills

## FinOps Responsibilities
– Monitor cloud spend and usage across platforms.
