## FinOps Specialist, Cloud Strategy

### About the Role
This role sits within Deloitte’s Cloud Strategy team and focuses on cloud financial management and optimization. It exists to help clients improve visibility, control, and efficiency in cloud spending while supporting projects that combine technology, AI, and FinOps across different sectors.

You will work closely with technical and financial stakeholders to design and implement FinOps practices, build reporting and governance processes, and support cloud cost roadmaps. The position is aimed at reducing waste, improving transparency in cloud usage, and strengthening the financial sustainability of cloud environments.

### Key Responsibilities
– Manage cloud cost visibility and allocation through showback and chargeback models.
– Analyze the root causes of cloud overspend, including oversizing, underused resources, misconfiguration, and inefficient usage.
– Work with multidisciplinary teams to define and track cloud cost optimization initiatives, including waste reduction, consumption management, and procurement strategy.
– Support the definition of AI agents that help manage and optimize cloud costs.
– Optimize costs related to AI technologies such as OpenAI, Claude, and Copilot, as well as client-built models.
– Optimize the cost management of data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, and MS Fabric.
– Prepare cloud cost forecasts for current and future workloads.
– Support cost estimates for new cloud deployments and environments.
– Define and promote FinOps policies and best practices for ongoing cost management.
– Recommend tagging approaches to improve cost visibility before showback and chargeback.
– Track optimization initiatives and quantify avoided costs.
– Assess workload cost-performance to support efficient resource usage.
– Contribute to optimization work delivered under a success-fee model tied to achieved savings.

### Required Skills
– 3–5 years of experience.
– FinOps Practitioner certification.
– FinOps for AI certification.
– Strong knowledge of public cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
– Experience managing cloud costs in a provider-agnostic way.
– Familiarity with cloud cost management tools such as CloudHealth, Cloudability, and Flexera.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Excellent spoken and written English.
– Ability to work effectively in a team.
– Basic scripting and automation skills, such as Python or PowerShell, to support FinOps processes.
