## About the Role
This senior role is responsible for financial governance, license optimization, and consumption control across global ERP and SAP environments. Its core purpose is to keep software usage compliant while reducing overspend, unused capacity, and other forms of waste across licenses, subscriptions, and metered services.
The position sits within RDT ERP Systems Management, which oversees the stability, security, compliance, and lifecycle evolution of core global templates, including SAP S/4HANA Digital Core and legacy environments. It works across IT, Finance, and Procurement, using usage telemetry, automation, and forecasting to support audit readiness, cost control, and long-term value creation across the enterprise application landscape.
The role also covers utility-based consumption models such as SAP Private and Public Cloud subscriptions, entitlements, and AI units. By turning utilization data into clear governance and decision-making frameworks, the role supports both financial efficiency and enterprise-wide compliance.
## Key Responsibilities
– Lead SAP license governance, including entitlement analysis, role-based usage review, and assignment of the most cost-effective license types.
– Own tracking and control for SAP AI Units across global sub-accounts, including usage guardrails and quota limits in BTP Cockpit.
– Maintain continuous audit readiness by reconciling entitlements with actual consumption and leading periodic measurement reviews.
– Oversee cloud FinOps activities, including total cost of ownership, software asset budgets, rolling forecasts, and spend reduction.
– Design and maintain cost allocation, showback, and chargeback models for ERP cloud, application, and consumption-based usage.
– Support procurement with usage-based analysis for vendor negotiations, true-ups, and over-licensing prevention.
– Assess and coordinate the use of the corporate Software Asset Management toolbox.
– Partner across stakeholder groups and provide direction on mid- to long-term goals and objectives.
– Share FinOps, licensing, cloud, and AI metering knowledge through internal events, user groups, and Centers of Excellence; mentor teams to build cost awareness into release processes.
– Drive medium- to large-scale optimization initiatives across product lines and support global technology initiatives.
## Required Skills
– Deep expertise in SAP licensing and entitlement architecture, including S/4HANA Private Cloud RISE metrics, FUE, Digital Access, BTP consumption credits, SAP AI Units billing logic, and legacy licensing structures.
– Strong understanding of Cloud FinOps principles, utility-based and metered consumption engines, software asset management tooling, and infrastructure cost telemetry.
– Ability to design dashboard monitoring and visualizations to replace manual compliance workflows and identify utilization trends.
– Experience in ERP software engineering and platform support using advanced tools and streamlined processes.
– Understanding of application architecture and delivery roadmaps across enterprise ecosystems, with the ability to translate them into software asset requirements and decisions.
– Proven experience managing enterprise software contracts, platform cost tracking, credit pools, or license true-ups in complex enterprise software environments such as SAP landscapes.
– Demonstrated ability to define tasks, monitor follow-up, and keep work moving within an organization.
– Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective partnerships across stakeholder ecosystems.
– Leadership capability that uses team strengths effectively and challenges others in a growth-enabling way.
– Experience contributing to global knowledge-sharing events, tech universities, or Centers of Excellence (CoEs).
