## About the Role
TradingHub is hiring a FinOps Lead for a competitive financial services opportunity focused on cloud financial management and platform scale. The role exists to build and embed a cloud financial management capability across the organisation, improving cost transparency, accountability, and long-term efficiency.
This position sits between Engineering, Finance, and Product. Its purpose is to help the business make better decisions about cloud consumption so TradingHub can scale sustainably while maintaining financial discipline.
TradingHub builds trade surveillance software for financial institutions, so this role will have a direct impact on the technology estate that supports the platform and services.
## Key Responsibilities
– Own cloud cost management and optimisation across the cloud estate.
– Monitor cloud consumption and identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
– Establish cost allocation, tagging standards, and showback/chargeback models.
– Manage cloud commitments and provider discount programmes, including Reserved Instances and Savings Plans.
– Work with Engineering and Finance to forecast spend and assess investment decisions.
– Put in place governance, tooling, and reporting to support cost-aware decision-making.
## Required Skills
– Proven experience managing cloud spend in large-scale public cloud environments.
– Strong understanding of AWS and cloud-native infrastructure principles.
– Knowledge of cloud billing models, cost optimisation techniques, and commitment-based discount programmes.
– Experience with cloud cost management and FinOps tooling.
– Understanding of tagging, cost allocation, and showback/chargeback frameworks.
– Ability to analyse cloud consumption and financial data to identify optimisation opportunities.
– Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
– Ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
