About the Role
This FinOps Practitioner role supports an international cloud optimization project focused on cost efficiency, financial governance, and continuous improvement in cloud usage. The position is designed to strengthen FinOps maturity by aligning technology, operations, and financial objectives.
You will work across the full FinOps lifecycle, with activity aligned to the FinOps Foundation framework and its Inform, Optimize, and Operate phases. The role involves close collaboration with Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure, Finance, Procurement, and business stakeholders to turn technical consumption data into actionable financial insight.
The position is based in Lisbon on a hybrid model, with on-site presence required 1–2 times per week. Occasional international travel is also expected.
Key Responsibilities

Implement and operate FinOps practices aligned with the FinOps Foundation framework.
Support cloud cost optimization and financial governance initiatives.
Analyze consumption patterns to identify efficiency opportunities.
Define and monitor cloud financial performance metrics.
Contribute to the design and implementation of FinOps processes.
Promote better cloud resource allocation and optimization practices.
Improve visibility and transparency around technology costs.
Support cloud budgeting, chargeback, and showback activities.
Work with technical, finance, procurement, and business teams.
Translate technical information into clear financial insights.
Help advance FinOps maturity and continuous process improvement.

Required Skills

2+ years of experience in technology environments with a FinOps focus.
Strong knowledge of the FinOps Foundation framework.
Practical experience across the Inform, Optimize, and Operate phases.
Experience implementing and running FinOps processes.
Strong analytical ability to interpret consumption, cost, and optimization data.
Fluent English.
FinOps Certified Practitioner certification.
European nationality.
Availability to work in a hybrid setup in Lisbon.
Availability for occasional international travel.
