## About the Role
The Value Management & Financial Operations Lead will oversee financial performance across a portfolio of strategic initiatives. The role focuses on budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and investment evaluation to help leadership make informed decisions about funding and prioritization.
This position works closely with business, technology, finance, and operational teams to build business cases, assess investment opportunities, and quantify expected outcomes. It also supports the development of frameworks for tracking financial results and measuring realized business value.
The role is fully remote within the United States, with core working hours aligned to Eastern Time and occasional travel for meetings or training.
## Key Responsibilities
– Lead financial operations across a portfolio of initiatives, including budgeting, planning, forecasting, invoicing, and expenditure tracking.
– Build and maintain portfolio-level reports, performance scorecards, and dashboards to improve visibility into spend, forecast accuracy, and investment outcomes.
– Partner with business, finance, technology, and operational leaders to develop business cases and support strategic funding recommendations.
– Assess, quantify, and monitor the financial and operational value of strategic initiatives.
– Improve processes for benefits realization, including tracking expected versus actual results and reporting on delivered value.
– Support governance activities such as investment prioritization, funding reviews, financial evaluation, and resource allocation.
– Analyze financial and operational performance trends, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.
– Present portfolio performance, investment assessments, forecasts, and realized value to senior leadership and stakeholders.
– Apply independent judgment to complex financial and operational decisions.
– Drive continuous improvement in financial operations, value management frameworks, reporting, and portfolio oversight.
## Required Skills
– Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, operations, or a related field; or at least seven years of relevant experience in healthcare, finance, operations, strategy, or portfolio management.
– Five or more years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, or business operations.
– Experience developing business cases, evaluating investment opportunities, and supporting strategic financial decisions.
– Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate financial and operational performance metrics.
– Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and coordinating stakeholders across business, technology, finance, and operations.
– Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including financial modeling, data analysis, and executive presentation development.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
– Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and operate with minimal supervision.
## Preferred Skills
– Experience supporting large-scale healthcare, technology, or business transformation portfolios.
– Background in value management, portfolio management, or benefits realization.
– Experience preparing executive-level presentations, financial analyses, and recommendations.
– Familiarity with healthcare payer operations, Stars programs, risk adjustment, clinical data exchange, or technology portfolios.
– MBA, CPA, PMP, or a comparable advanced degree or professional certification.
