# Technology Business Management Office Lead
## About the Role
The Technology Business Management (TBM) Office Lead is responsible for advancing the adoption and strategic use of IBM Apptio to improve technology investment decisions and increase business value. The role provides leadership in TBM practices and tooling, with a focus on transparency, accountability, and data-driven decision-making across IT, finance, and business teams.
This position acts as both a product owner and change agent, supporting the organization’s ability to track, analyze, and optimize technology spending. It works closely with IT, finance, the business office, and executive stakeholders to align technology investments with strategic objectives.
The role also supports financial management activities such as budgeting, forecasting, total cost of ownership analysis, and chargeback/showback reporting. In addition, it serves as the primary point of contact with IBM Apptio support to address updates, troubleshooting, and platform enhancements.
## Key Responsibilities
– Lead the TBM Office and oversee the deployment and ongoing administration of Apptio solutions.
– Build and maintain a TBM framework that improves transparency and aligns technology spend with business priorities.
– Develop dashboards and reports that provide executive stakeholders with actionable insights into technology portfolios and investments.
– Integrate Apptio with finance, talent, and procurement contract data sources to support automated loading, cleansing, and validation.
– Promote TBM best practices and Apptio capabilities through training, stakeholder education, and change management.
– Help bridge IT, finance, and business teams by translating complex data into clear decision support.
– Monitor performance metrics to identify cost optimization opportunities, better resource allocation, and improved return on technology investment.
– Support budgeting, forecasting, TCO analysis, and chargeback/showback reporting.
– Act as the main liaison with IBM Apptio support for platform updates, troubleshooting, and enhancements.
– Lead initiatives that mature the organization’s use of TBM and strengthen accountability.
– Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory requirements to keep TBM practices aligned with business and finance needs.
## Required Skills
– Extensive experience in technology business management, IT financial management, or a related field.
– Strong knowledge of TBM methodology.
– Detailed knowledge of IBM Apptio platform capabilities, configuration, and operations, including IT planning and cost transparency.
– Experience in data analysis, data modeling, and IT service management.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
– Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence executive decision-making.
– Experience in project management, process improvement, and technology portfolio optimization.
– Strategic thinking and business acumen to align technology investments with organizational goals.
– Ability to present actionable insights to executive-level stakeholders.
– Adaptability and a continuous improvement mindset.
– Solid project management skills with the ability to oversee complex initiatives and deliver on time.
– Bachelor’s degree in IT, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

– Improve transparency into technology spending and investment decisions.
– Support cost optimization, resource allocation, and return-on-investment analysis for technology initiatives.
– Develop and maintain reporting for budgeting, forecasting, total cost of ownership, and chargeback/showback.
– Connect financial and operational data sources to improve reporting accuracy and decision support.
– Promote accountability and continuous improvement in technology financial management.
## Benefits
– Base salary range: $139,300 to $275,800 in the US.
– Base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California excluding Sacramento: $167,100 to $313,400.
