# About the Role

The Cloud and AI Engineering team focuses on improving productivity and accelerating delivery of software and services for Woven by Toyota and the wider Toyota organization. The team builds and integrates modern technologies to help engineering teams move faster while keeping safety a priority.

This FinOps role exists to turn cloud cost management principles into practical solutions. You will work with FinOps, engineering teams, senior leaders, and business stakeholders to improve cloud usage, strengthen cost allocation practices, implement governance and automation, and deliver dashboards and data pipelines that make spend information easier to act on.

# Key Responsibilities

– Support the design of public cloud environments, with a focus on cost optimization for multiple engineering teams.
– Apply Infrastructure as Code practices and industry best practices to improve cloud efficiency.
– Partner with FinOps and engineering teams to optimize cloud usage and cost.
– Build, implement, and maintain cost dashboards for engineering teams, including access management.
– Help drive FinOps adoption across the organization with the Cloud & AI Business Operations Team.
– Review and improve the existing code base and infrastructure deployment pipeline.
– Develop solutions that automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
– Implement cloud and tool governance, automation, and data pipelines that provide actionable insights.

# Required Skills

– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
– Hands-on coding experience in Python, Go, Java, JavaScript, Shell, or a similar language.
– Experience architecting, deploying, and operating solutions on AWS or GCP.
– Experience designing, implementing, and/or maintaining cloud cost optimization solutions.
– Experience with data modification and data massaging.
– Ability to analyze requirements and design solutions that automate routine tasks.
– Strong interest in platform engineering or SRE topics, including automation, application/platform management, performance assessment, and monitoring.
– Strong interest in cloud cost management and cloud cost optimization.
– Hands-on experience with public cloud, GitHub, and DevOps methodologies.
– Track record of partnering with senior leaders, engineering teams, and business stakeholders on cost optimization and cost allocation best practices.
– Ability to speak and write in English and Japanese.

# Preferred Skills

– Hands-on experience with cloud-native tools and technologies, Kubernetes, containers, and Infrastructure as Code.
– FinOps certification.
– Professional certifications on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
– Hands-on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or Power BI.
– Experience working cross-functionally with Finance or Accounting teams.
– Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and incident management.
– Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design.

# FinOps Responsibilities

– Support cloud cost optimization for multiple engineering teams.
– Partner with FinOps and engineering teams to improve cloud usage and spend.
– Build and maintain cost dashboards with appropriate access controls.
– Promote FinOps adoption across the organization with the Cloud & AI Business Operations Team.
– Implement cloud governance, tool governance, automation, and data pipelines that turn spend data into actionable insights.
– Improve cost allocation practices and cloud cost visibility.
– Review and enhance the code base and infrastructure deployment pipeline where needed.
