Senior FinOps Consultant
(German & English Speaking)
Our client, a fast-growing and highly respected advisory and consulting practice, is looking to hire another Senior FinOps Consultant to continue their expansion across the DACH region. This is a fully remote role, open to candidates based in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland, provided you are fluent in both German and English.
You will work directly with C-level and senior stakeholders, delivering independent, high-impact FinOps consulting services across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, including advising on tooling, operating models and cost optimisation strategies that drive measurable business value.
The Opportunity
This role requires deep technical expertise along with a consultative, client-facing approach, as you will be guiding organisations through the full FinOps lifecycle, from maturity assessment and initial discovery, through implementation or optimisation, to value realisation/validation.
Working alongside leading FinOps and TBM specialists, you will act as a trusted advisor, translating business, financial and operational goals into scalable, sustainable FinOps solutions that are embedded for long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
Assess the client’s FinOps maturity across cost visibility, allocation, optimisation and governance, before defining a clear roadmap to the target state
Advise on FinOps best practices, including cost allocation frameworks, tagging strategies, rightsizing and commitment management
Design target operating models, KPIs, governance structures and operating rhythms to ensure lasting adoption
Develop cost allocation models, tagging frameworks, and automated reporting to improve financial transparency
Deliver data-driven insights and design scalable FinOps solutions based on robust analysis
Configure and support deployment of FinOps platforms such as Apptio Cloudability, Flexera, CloudHealth, CloudZero, nOps, ProsperOps or similar
Facilitate client workshops and lead stakeholder engagements
Advise and support FinOps tool implementation and optimisation initiatives
Present recommendations to senior stakeholders in clear, commercially focused language
Requirements
5+ years’ experience in FinOps, cloud cost management or cloud economics
Strong understanding of AWS, Azure and/or GCP cost structures and optimisation levers
Hands-on experience with FinOps tooling (ideally inc. Apptio Cloudability)
Advanced analytical skills, including experience working with large datasets and Excel
Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate data into business impact
Previous consulting experience (internal or external) is highly desirable
FinOps certification (or strong motivation to achieve it) is a plus
