TechnologyOne is recognised as an industry leader in FinOps, a critical discipline central to the growth of our SaaS business. As a mid to senior FinOps professional, you’ll drive measurable cloud cost optimisation, financial insight, and FinOps enablement across TechnologyOne’s SaaS and cloud environments.
Reporting to the R&D Director , SaaS P&L, you’ll proactively identify cost opportunities, manage commitment and variance reporting, build FinOps capability across teams, and ensure cloud spend is understood, justified, and continuously improved.
What you’ll be doing:
Analyse usage and billing data across AWS, Azure, and Databricks to identify cost optimisation opportunities.
Maintain an optimisation backlog and track recommendations through to closure.
Plan and manage Reserved Instances and Savings Plans with data-driven recommendations.
Maintain a commitment renewal calendar, engaging stakeholders ahead of expiry windows to avoid commitment waste.
Monitor AI/LLM workloads and provide cost optimisation insights.
Deliver actionable reporting and insights to stakeholders, including contributing to cost dashboard and self-service analytics development.
Track actuals against budgets and explain variances; support the budget process with phased forecasts and variance commentary aligned with the annual planning cycle.
Refine cost allocation and validate cloud credits.
Develop cloud unit economics metrics to support SaaS margin visibility.
Build FinOps literacy across the organisation and mentor teams; contribute to the FinOps community through internal lunch-and-learns and external working groups.
Take end-to-end ownership of recommendations, from opportunity identification through to realised savings validation.
Partner with engineering, product, and finance teams to implement cost-saving initiatives.
Partner with external vendors to optimise cloud contracts.
Stay current with FinOps ecosystem developments, the FOCUS specification, and emerging AI cost management practices.
Maintain compliance with data governance, security, and confidentiality requirements across all FinOps activities.
