# Senior Financial Analyst
## About the Role
This role sits within the Asia-Pacific Data Center Finance team in India and supports AWS data center operations across the region. The position is focused on financial controllership for the AWS Data Center Community and on improving financial performance through analysis, forecasting, and business partnership.
The role works closely with regional AWS leadership and other internal stakeholders, including finance, construction, IT, and design teams. It supports the business areas involved in operations, business development, construction, and carbon-free energy, with the goal of helping leadership make informed decisions and improve the economics of the business.
## Key Responsibilities
– Partner with AWS senior management and internal stakeholders to provide financial recommendations.
– Work with the business on sourcing and supply management strategies.
– Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts.
– Produce ad hoc analysis and present recommendations to senior leadership.
– Collaborate on cost savings, automation, and process improvement initiatives across finance, construction, IT, and design.
– Communicate financial information clearly in both written and verbal formats.
– Monitor compliance with controls and systems, and help develop new processes for a fast-growing global business.
## Required Skills
– Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field such as engineering, math, or computer science.
– 4+ years of experience in finance or a related analytical field.
– 4+ years of experience building financial and operational reports or data sets that support business decisions.
– 4+ years of experience creating process improvements through automation and analysis.
– Strong analytical capability, with a focus on accountability, high standards, and accuracy.
– Ability to communicate data clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
## Preferred Skills
– MBA or CPA.
– Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools such as SQL, MS Access, Essbase, or Cognos.
– Experience with financial systems such as Oracle, SAP, Lawson, or JD Edwards.
– Experience identifying, leading, and delivering improvements that automate, standardize, or simplify finance or business tools and processes.
