# Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
## About the Role
DV Trading is hiring a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure used by the firm’s trading desks and research platforms. The role owns shared cloud capabilities across the business and also provides specialized infrastructure support for the crypto desk.
This position is highly technical and latency-sensitive. It focuses on cloud networking, distributed systems, infrastructure placement, and security controls where operational reliability and performance have direct impact on trading results. The engineer will also work closely with the network team and broader engineering teams, and will act as a key escalation point for cloud incidents.
The role includes leading a migration of CME colocation workloads to GCP while maintaining uninterrupted trading operations. It also requires setting standards for observability, infrastructure design, and FinOps visibility across cloud workloads.
## Key Responsibilities
– Own the architecture and operation of cloud infrastructure supporting latency-sensitive trading systems across the firm.
– Design AWS and GCP network topologies with explicit routing, isolation, and traffic control.
– Partner with the network team to build a highly available, low-latency global network, including Direct Connect, Cloud Interconnect, VPN, and Transit Gateway connectivity.
– Define compute placement strategies, including cluster placement groups and locality-aware scheduling.
– Build shared platform services that let engineering teams self-serve reliably and safely.
– Own cloud cost visibility and optimization frameworks across trading and research workloads.
– Serve as the primary escalation point for cloud infrastructure incidents from detection through resolution.
– Set observability standards and own the cloud monitoring and alerting stack.
– Mentor engineers and help define infrastructure standards across teams.
– Lead infrastructure planning and execution for the migration of CME colocation workloads to GCP.
– Design hybrid connectivity between colocation environments and GCP.
– Architect GCP VPC, IAM, and Organization Policy structures to align with AWS security posture.
– Define GCP compute strategy using Compute Engine, GKE, and sole-tenant nodes.
– Extend Terraform standards to GCP and establish cross-cloud observability using Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and Cloud Trace.
– Design secure, low-latency connectivity to cryptocurrency exchanges through private peering or dedicated API gateways.
– Build a DDoS-resilient perimeter for crypto-facing infrastructure and enforce strict network segmentation.
– Establish WebSocket connection management for real-time market data feeds with failover and feed health monitoring.
## Required Skills
– 5+ years of experience in a similar role
– Extensive hands-on experience with both AWS and GCP in performance-sensitive environments
– Deep expertise in cloud networking, including VPC design, hybrid connectivity, routing, and traffic control across AWS and GCP
– Extensive experience using Terraform at scale
– Direct experience supporting electronic trading or other low-latency systems
– Proven ability to build shared platform capabilities and drive adoption across engineering teams
– Experience migrating latency-sensitive workloads to GCP
– Familiarity with Compute Engine, GKE, and sole-tenant nodes
– Working knowledge of GCP IAM, Organization Policies, and multi-project governance
– Understanding of multi-cloud networking patterns and cross-cloud security posture management
– Familiarity with exchange API security models, crypto key custody patterns, and WebSocket-based market data infrastructure
– Awareness of the crypto threat landscape, including API key theft, BGP hijacking, and chain reorganization events
