# FinOps Engineer – Data & AI

## About the Role

The Data & AI Center, part of EDF Group’s Data, AI & Development Center of Excellence, is deploying a new Data & AI platform across on-premises infrastructure and public cloud, with a trusted cloud environment under development.

As FinOps Engineer, you will act as the FinOps reference for the Group Data & AI Platform. You will structure and lead the FinOps approach, improve cost visibility and control, and help maximize the value of cloud spending while maintaining platform performance and agility.

You will work with technical experts, business teams, and financial stakeholders to support cost management, develop reporting tools, promote best practices, and guide the adoption of efficient architectures.

## Key Responsibilities

– Design, maintain, and analyze dashboards and monthly reports covering cloud costs and financial performance.
– Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend efficient architecture solutions.
– Support the technical implementation of cost optimization initiatives.
– Estimate Data & AI project costs for budgeting purposes.
– Deploy preventive alerts to identify potential budget overruns.
– Define FinOps standards and support their adoption with technical experts.
– Act as the FinOps reference for the Data & AI Platform.
– Raise awareness, train, and engage technical and business communities around FinOps practices and results.

## Required Skills

– Master’s degree, engineering degree, or equivalent university qualification.
– At least five years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or FinOps Analyst.
– Experience with at least one major public cloud provider—AWS, Azure, or GCP—and its billing mechanisms.
– Knowledge of native cost-management tools.
– Scripting skills, particularly Python or Bash.
– Ability to use SQL queries and Power BI to analyze billing data.
– Understanding of Data & AI architectures.
– Strong communication skills when working with technical and financial stakeholders.
– Leadership skills to drive change and encourage team accountability.
– Strong analytical rigor when working with large volumes of billing data.

## Preferred Skills

– Experience with Google Cloud Platform.
– FinOps or cloud certification.

## FinOps Responsibilities

– Produce financial reporting and cloud cost dashboards.
– Analyze cloud spending and financial performance.
– Identify optimization opportunities and support efficient architecture decisions.
– Estimate project costs for Data & AI budgets.
– Implement preventive budget-overrun alerts.
– Establish and promote FinOps standards across the platform.
– Train and engage technical and business teams in FinOps practices.

## Compensation

– Base gross annual salary, excluding bonuses: **€50,000–€80,000**, depending on qualifications and professional experience.
– Overall package includes an individual performance bonus, profit-sharing, and employee savings plans.
