# Cloud Financial Management | FinOps Specialist

## About the Role

Decskill is seeking a Cloud Financial Management / FinOps Specialist for an international project based in Porto. The role focuses on managing and optimizing cloud and AI service expenditure across products and services.

You will collaborate with business, finance, infrastructure, cloud, engineering, operational, and product teams to improve cost visibility, support financial decision-making, and embed FinOps and DevFinOps practices into delivery processes.

The position combines cloud cost analysis, financial modelling, reporting, optimization initiatives, and the implementation of controls and guardrails across AWS environments.

## Key Responsibilities

– Analyze cloud and AI service spending, cost drivers, trends, and business value.
– Monitor daily cloud costs and prepare weekly and monthly reports.
– Identify and implement cloud cost and resource optimization initiatives.
– Develop financial models, forecasts, projections, and scenario analyses.
– Evaluate the ROI of cloud initiatives.
– Improve tools, processes, and financial and technical data flows.
– Support the integration of FinOps controls, guardrails, and Policy-as-Code into delivery pipelines.
– Collaborate with technical, financial, operational, product, and management stakeholders.
– Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to different audiences.

## Required Skills

– Professional experience in Cloud Financial Management, FinOps, DevFinOps, Cloud Cost Optimization, or a related role.
– Strong knowledge of cloud cost management and optimization.
– Experience with cloud pricing models, discounts, Savings Plans, and rate optimization.
– Knowledge of FinOps principles and methodologies.
– Experience with cost attribution, showback, forecasting, and amortization.
– Knowledge of rightsizing and cloud resource optimization.
– Experience with cloud financial reporting and monitoring.
– Experience developing financial models and cost projections.
– Knowledge of ROI analysis and scenario modelling.
– Experience working with AWS cloud environments.
– Experience integrating FinOps practices into engineering and delivery processes.
– Familiarity with DevFinOps and Policy-as-Code concepts.
– Experience working in Agile environments.
– Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
– Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
– Ability to identify continuous improvement and optimization opportunities.
– Ability to work effectively in dynamic and distributed environments.
– Fluency in English.

– Apply rightsizing, waste management, rate optimization, discount, and Savings Plan strategies.
– Track the progress and results of optimization initiatives.
– Develop cost forecasts, projections, financial models, and scenario analyses.
– Analyze cloud spending in relation to business value, product outcomes, and operational requirements.
– Support Cloud Financial Management controls and guardrails.
– Contribute to FinOps and DevFinOps practices across cloud environments.
– Integrate FinOps practices and Policy-as-Code into delivery pipelines.
– Improve cloud cost analysis, reporting, and related data processes.
