# FinOps Specialist
## About the Role
Alpha Bank is seeking a FinOps Specialist to join its IT Cost Management Domain. The role is responsible for overseeing the IT budget by combining actual performance, historical expenditure, estimated costs, and income.
The position supports cost planning, reporting, asset management, budget monitoring, and chargeback activities. It works closely with Technology, Accounting, business teams, system owners, supervisors, and other stakeholders to improve cost visibility, evaluate financial performance, and identify optimization opportunities.
## Key Responsibilities
– Analyze capital and operating expense requests and prepare documentation for approval proposals.
– Record cost components in relevant systems, including projects, cost categories, related costs, and cost drivers.
– Monitor asset evolution and depreciation, prepare reports, and collect feedback on asset useful life.
– Coordinate actions such as useful-life extensions and asset impairments with system owners, Accounting, and business stakeholders.
– Prepare cost reports covering progress, productivity, efficiency, and results across assigned cost categories.
– Compare actual costs with approved budgets and report potential deviations.
– Analyze large raw datasets and communicate findings and potential solutions clearly.
– Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of the chargeback model, including data feeds, cost components, allocation rules, and drivers.
– Identify opportunities for cost optimization.
– Collaborate with Technology teams to understand application, infrastructure, cloud, and project-related cost drivers.
## Required Skills
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or another relevant field.
– At least five years of relevant experience in financial markets business and computer systems.
– Strong financial knowledge, including budgeting, accounting, and reporting principles.
– Analytical thinking and business acumen to assess financial performance and support decision-making.
– Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
– High learning agility in dynamic, cross-functional environments.
– Good knowledge of reporting and data analysis tools, such as Power BI, Excel, SQL, or similar platforms.
– Ability to create and interpret management reports and dashboards.
– Understanding of IT systems and technology cost drivers.
## Preferred Skills
– Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
– Familiarity with data flows, system integrations, and technology operating models.
– FinOps Certified Practitioner, FinOps Certified Professional, or equivalent certification.
