FinOps Practitioner – Permanent Contract
For our client, active in the rail transportation sector, we are looking for a confirmed FinOps Practitioner.
Core Responsibilities
Governance & Optimization:
Monitor and optimize multi-cloud costs using right-sizing, spot instances, and reserved capacity. Establish tagging standards and cost-allocation frameworks.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Partner with Finance to build accurate cloud budgets and implement chargeback/showback models. Conduct scenario planning for future cloud adoption.
Reporting & Compliance:
Deliver actionable insights to stakeholders ranging from engineers to executives. Ensure cloud spend aligns with
FOCUS
standards and complies with Belgian/EU regulations (e.g., NIS2, ISO 27001).
Culture & Advocacy:
Educate technical teams on cost-aware design. Act as the “translator” between technical and financial departments to create a shared language.
Automation:
Integrate FinOps practices into
CI/CD pipelines
and
IaC
. Use automation for anomaly detection and real-time spend monitoring.
Technical & Professional Requirements
Mandatory Experience
Experience:
3+ years in a FinOps or Cloud Financial Management role.
Cloud Proficiency:
Hands-on experience with major cloud providers and cloud-native economics (including
Kubernetes
cost management).
FinOps Tools:
Mastery of at least one major FinOps tool with reporting aligned to the
FOCUS
specification.
Languages:
Fluency in
English (C2)
Skills & Qualifications
Technical:
Practical knowledge of
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
and automation frameworks.
Finance:
Strong grasp of cloud pricing models, discount programs, and cost-allocation methodologies.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional ability to influence cross-functional teams and present complex data to executive leadership.
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
Certifications:
FinOps Certified Practitioner (FCP) or advanced Cloud certifications.
Regulated Environments:
Experience in financial or public sectors (familiarity with ISO 27001/NIS2).
Negotiation:
Experience with enterprise cloud contracts and vendor management.
