# FinOps Manager – IT
**Location:** Chennai
**Reporting to:** Director of Enterprise IT Governance
## About the Role
This role is responsible for cost management across the Enterprise IT Services organization, including projects, regular run rates, and expenses. It also owns the FinOps function and serves as the key point of accountability for all cost-related activities within the EIS organization.
The position provides stakeholders with cost insights, metrics, and KPIs, while strengthening governance, budgeting support, and cloud financial management. It works closely with Finance, other non-technical stakeholders, matrix teams, senior leadership, and department heads.
## Key Responsibilities
– Build governance for IT spend and improve visibility across total organizational spend.
– Manage cost-related aspects of the EIS organization, including projects, run rates, and expenses.
– Develop forecasts and estimates to support budgeting.
– Identify and drive cost-saving initiatives and cloud consumption optimization.
– Maintain cost allocation strategy.
– Lead FinOps best practices, awareness, and adoption.
– Implement systems and automate processes to improve efficiency.
– Work with Finance and other non-technical stakeholders.
– Develop and maintain KPIs, scorecards, dashboards, and standard metrics.
– Deliver cloud-related financial reports on time.
– Track cloud resource provisioning, projected cost, and actual spend.
– Manage cloud contracts, including negotiation, maintenance expenses, procurement, and order processing.
– Publish cloud financial policies covering budgeting, authorization, provisioning, forecasting, utilisation, and billing.
– Control infrastructure run costs and update project costs to align with projected spend.
– Follow cloud financial models and architecture.
– Implement security controls related to billing, Cloud Security, and Identity and Access Management.
– Improve financial management through simplified reporting and clear governance.
## Required Skills
– Any graduate with 10–15 years of IT experience.
– At least 6 years of IT project management experience covering public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
– At least 5 years of experience in cloud financial management and FinOps.
– 5 years of experience in cost management.
– Strong infrastructure technical understanding.
– Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills.
– Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
– Strong analytical, financial analysis, and problem-solving skills.
– Proven ability to drive FinOps best practices.
– Experience as a process advocate and SME in matrix organizations.
– Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
– Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
– Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, senior leadership, and department heads.
– Strong oral and written communication skills.

## FinOps Responsibilities
– Manage enterprise cloud cost drivers and optimize cloud consumption.
– Build governance and policy for cloud financial processes, including budgeting, authorization, provisioning, forecasting, utilisation, and billing.
– Improve spend visibility and provide cost insights, metrics, and KPIs.
– Develop forecasts, estimates, and cost allocation methods to support budgeting and planning.
– Track projected and actual cloud spend, including provisioning and resource usage.
– Manage cloud contracts and support maintenance expenses to maximize business value.
– Control infrastructure run costs and align project costs to projected spend.
– Support procurement, order processing, and contract management tied to cloud spend.
– Improve financial reporting, dashboards, and governance.
– Drive FinOps best practices, adoption, and automation.
