## About the Role

The FinOps Engineer will support cloud financial management across Azure and AWS, with a focus on improving spend visibility, cost efficiency, and governance. The role exists to help align cloud consumption with organizational objectives and ensure cloud usage remains accountable and controlled.

This position works closely with Engineering, Finance, Procurement, and business teams to embed cost-aware practices into cloud operations. It also involves building the reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and automation capabilities needed to manage cloud costs effectively at scale.

## Key Responsibilities

– Monitor and analyze cloud spending across Azure and AWS to identify cost-saving opportunities.
– Build cost allocation approaches using tagging and cost hierarchy models.
– Develop and maintain cloud cost dashboards and financial reports for stakeholders.
– Create budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis for cloud consumption.
– Collaborate with engineering teams to apply cost-aware architecture principles.
– Promote adoption of FinOps tools and automation frameworks.
– Design scripting-based automation for cost tracking and optimization.
– Partner with Finance, Procurement, and Engineering on cost planning and accountability.
– Deliver training and awareness on cloud financial governance for business units.
– Stay current on FinOps practices and cloud pricing models.

## Required Skills

– Strong experience with Azure and AWS, including cost management tools.
– Practical experience in FinOps, cloud financial management, or cloud governance.
– Deep understanding of cloud pricing models.
– Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
– Scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
– Knowledge of FinOps Foundation principles and tagging strategies.
– Strong analytical skills.
– Experience using Power BI, Tableau, or Excel for cost reporting.
– Ability to work with large cost datasets, including AWS CUR and Azure exports.
– Experience in large-scale enterprise cloud environments.
– Exposure to multi-cloud architectures.

## Preferred Skills

– FinOps Certified Practitioner (FCP) or equivalent certification.
– Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator.
– AWS certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect.
