# Job Title: FinOps Specialist (Data & AI)
## About the Role
The FinOps Specialist for Data & AI will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the costs associated with Data and AI platforms. This position is focused on ensuring financial transparency and maximizing the value delivered to the business. The specialist will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Technology, Data, AI, Finance, Procurement, and Business Units, to create a seamless workflow that supports enhanced financial performance.
The primary objective of this role is to analyze, forecast, and control costs related to cloud services and generative AI solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing cost allocation models and implementing effective governance mechanisms that ensure financial efficiency.
## Key Responsibilities
– Manage and optimize costs for Data & AI platforms, ensuring efficient spending and financial transparency.
– Define cost allocation models for business units, data products, projects, and AI use cases.
– Implement Showback and Chargeback mechanisms along with cost control, forecasting, and optimization models.
– Analyze and optimize consumption of Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory, Azure AI Services, Microsoft Fabric, and Microsoft AI Foundry.
– Oversee Microsoft Fabric consumption, including F-SKU, OneLake, Data Engineering, Data Warehouse, Data Factory, Real-Time Intelligence, and Copilot.
– Develop scaling strategies, autoscaling, and load consolidation to minimize consumption.
– Manage costs related to generative AI solutions, analyzing token consumption and costs per interaction, agent, or use case.
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial operations and enhance project outcomes.
## Required Skills
– Minimum of 2 years of experience in data analysis and reporting.
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
– Knowledge of FinOps practices and cost management in Data & AI environments.
– Proficiency in Azure, Microsoft Fabric, and generative AI platforms.
## Preferred Skills
– Familiarity with Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, and GitHub Copilot is advantageous.
