# Cloud FinOps Engineer

## About the Role
We are seeking a Cloud FinOps Engineer to join our Cloud Compute Services team at Arup. This position is vital for supporting the operational management of our cloud compute services. As part of a global team, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective financial management practices within a multi-cloud environment. The role collaborates closely with both business and IT teams, driving the adoption of FinOps principles to optimize cloud expenditures and support transformative cloud initiatives.

## Key Responsibilities
– Design, implement, and execute domain-specific FinOps functions.
– Drive the adoption of FinOps principles within day-to-day operations.
– Lead initiatives and projects, providing essential leadership.
– Identify and resolve barriers to achieving value from cloud platforms.
– Track and manage operational and project costs, including annual budget planning.
– Collaborate with business and IT teams to establish and manage financial management practices.
– Monitor and optimize cloud costs through effective billing, invoicing, and utilisation tracking.
– Report on progress related to cloud financial management initiatives and influence decision-making.

## Required Skills
– Proven experience in cloud financial management.
– Strong understanding of FinOps principles and practices.
– Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
– Excellent communication skills for technical discussions.
– Experience in budget planning and cost management.

## Preferred Skills
– Familiarity with cloud platforms and financial governance frameworks.
– Experience in project management within IT or cloud environments.

## Cloud Platforms & Technologies
– **Cloud Providers**: Multi-cloud environment experience preferred.
– **Monitoring/Reporting**: Proficiency in tracking and analytics related to cloud costs.
– **Collaboration Tools**: Familiarity with tools that facilitate communication between business and IT teams.
