# FinOps Analyst

## About the Role
The FinOps Analyst will help establish and mature a Cloud and SaaS Financial Management practice across AWS, Google Dialog flow, OCI, and enterprise SaaS platforms including Splunk, Dynatrace, Cisco cloud services, Salesforce, and other subscription-based technologies. The role is focused on improving cost efficiency, governance, transparency, and alignment to business priorities as the organization migrates from on-premise data centers and operates in steady state.
This position partners closely with Cloud Engineering, Architecture, Finance, Procurement, Security, and Application teams. It turns usage data into financial insight, supports migration and modernization decisions, and helps ensure cloud and SaaS consumption is managed in a cost-effective and controlled way.
## Key Responsibilities
– Build and mature the FinOps operating model across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.
– Define and maintain cost governance standards across AWS, GCP, OCI, and enterprise SaaS platforms.
– Partner with engineering and architecture teams to include cost considerations in design and migration decisions.
– Maintain FinOps playbooks, policies, dashboards, and operating procedures.
– Drive cloud cost optimization through right-sizing, capacity planning, and service tier selection.
– Manage SaaS spend optimization and track commitment and contract utilization.
– Establish tagging, metadata, allocation, and chargeback/showback standards.
– Build forecasting and reporting for migration waves, modernization initiatives, and steady-state growth.
– Provide executive reporting on spend, trends, savings realized, and optimization opportunities.
– Support financial controls, audits, and contract governance with Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Vendor Management.
– Enable engineering, operations, and application teams with cost-aware guidance.
– Collaborate with Procurement and Vendor Management on commercial agreements.
## Required Skills
– 5–7 years of related experience in FinOps, cloud financial management, or IT financial analysis.
– Hands-on experience with cloud cost reporting, allocation, and optimization in a large enterprise environment.
– Experience supporting data center exit and cloud migration programs.
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
– Strong knowledge of AWS billing, pricing models, and cost management tools such as Cost Explorer, Budgets, and CUR.
– Proven experience with tagging, chargeback/showback, and cost allocation models across cloud and SaaS ecosystems.
– Strong understanding of cloud migration financial impacts and hybrid cost models.
– Ability to translate technical cloud usage into financial insights for executive audiences.
– Demonstrated ownership of forecasting, governance, and optimization.
– Experience working with Finance, Procurement, Architecture, and Engineering teams.
– Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills.
– Excellent communication skills, including the ability to influence without direct authority.
– Strong understanding of multi-cloud financial models across AWS, GCP, and OCI.
– Experience managing SaaS cost governance for Splunk, Dynatrace, Cisco cloud services, Salesforce, and similar tools.
– Understanding of hybrid cost models spanning on-prem, cloud infrastructure, and SaaS subscriptions.
## Preferred Skills
– FinOps Foundation Practitioner or Professional certification.
– AWS Cloud Practitioner or Associate-level certification.
– ITIL Foundation certification.
– Experience in financial services, automotive finance, banking, or other regulated industries.

## FinOps Responsibilities
