## About the Role
UniqPay is hiring a FinOps Analyst to own the cost side of payments economics, including scheme fees, provider fees, corridor economics, and invoice reconciliation. This is a pre-launch role, so the fee models, provider cost trackers, and unit economics dashboards will need to be built from the ground up.
The role supports Finance and Commercial by providing the cost floor behind pricing decisions and renewal negotiations. It also reports directly to the CFO through a monthly cost of payments pack, with clear variance analysis and actionable commentary.
## Key Responsibilities
– Build and maintain the full cost model for fees paid by UniqPay, including scheme, provider, banking, and FX costs by corridor and payment method.
– Reconcile partner and provider invoices against contracted rates and actual volumes, and resolve discrepancies.
– Maintain profitability views by transaction and corridor for leadership.
– Support pricing decisions and renewal negotiations by providing accurate cost inputs.
– Monitor fee changes, mix shifts, and cost creep before month-end close.
– Replace manual spreadsheet-based reconciliation with documented, repeatable processes.
– Produce the monthly cost of payments reporting pack for the CFO, including explained variances.
## Required Skills
– 2 to 4 years of experience in financial analysis, payments finance, or FinOps, ideally within a payments company, PSP, or bank.
– Strong understanding of interchange, scheme fees, provider pricing structures, and settlement mechanics.
– Strong spreadsheet skills and structured query language (SQL) knowledge.
– Ability to build auditable financial models.
– High attention to detail and a disciplined reconciliation approach.
– Clear communication skills, with the ability to turn fee schedules into concise business summaries.
– Comfortable working with business intelligence platforms and accounting systems.
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
## Preferred Skills
– Experience recovering money through provider invoice reconciliation.
– Experience building a unit economics model used for pricing decisions.
– Experience working with more than one acquiring or payout provider.
