The Director of Technology Financial Operations (FinOps) will provide strategic financial leadership across the Technology organization, ensuring cost transparency, operational rigor, and accurate budget management. This role will partner with Technology leadership, Finance, Procurement, and Accounts Payable to oversee spend allocation, budgeting, and recharge governance while enabling data-driven decisions. You will lead initiatives to optimize invoice management, financial reporting, and cost allocation frameworks, balancing operational efficiency with financial accountability. By providing actionable insights and implementing process improvements, you will influence enterprise-wide financial stewardship and technology investment decisions. This is a high-impact role that combines analytical expertise, operational oversight, and cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic, remote-working environment.
Accountabilities
Partner with Technology leadership to support budgeting, quarterly forecasts, and spend reviews, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities
Provide visibility into spend trends, variance drivers, and potential financial risks or opportunities
Oversee invoice management processes, ensuring timely processing, accurate classification, and resolution of discrepancies with Accounts Payable and vendors
Maintain and enhance cost allocation, recharge frameworks, and governance, ensuring accurate distribution of Technology costs across business units
Collaborate with Procurement, Legal, and Finance teams to align contracts, SOWs, and cost tracking with budget expectations
Develop dashboards, financial models, and analyses to provide actionable insights and drive continuous improvement in spend management
Lead process governance initiatives to streamline workflows, ensure compliance, and increase operational efficiency
Requirements
8+ years of experience in Technology Financial Operations, TBM, FP&A-adjacent roles, or similar operational leadership functions
Strong analytical, financial modeling, and advanced Excel skills
Experience managing large budgets, cost allocation methods, recharge models, or multi-entity cost distribution
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with Technology, Finance, Procurement, and AP teams
Strong vendor management, invoice oversight, and process improvement experience
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
Experience in multi-venue, multi-entity, or enterprise environments preferred
Familiarity with TBM, technology financial governance practices, or spend management best practices is a plus
