## About the Role
Lumenalta is hiring an experienced Data & FinOps Engineer for a live GCP platform engagement. This role combines data engineering and cloud financial operations, with ownership of audit log pipelines, immutable retention, cost attribution, and real-time cloud spend visibility.
The work centers on building the observability and governance layer for a multi-tenant environment, with a focus on compliance, traceability, and cost efficiency. You will collaborate closely with data, product, and engineering stakeholders to deliver infrastructure that supports both operational and audit needs.
This is a fully remote role for candidates based in Latin America (LATAM). A minimum 6-hour overlap with core business hours is required, with those hours primarily aligned to Pacific, Central, or Eastern U.S. time zones. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis; the deadline is July 26, 2026, and feedback is expected by August 3, 2026.
## Key Responsibilities
– Design and maintain BigQuery audit datasets, including compliance-oriented schema design, immutable retention setup, and access controls.
– Build and operate Cloud Audit Log pipelines that route MCP inputs and outputs into structured, queryable audit storage.
– Develop Cloud Billing export pipelines and Looker Studio dashboards for spend visibility, trend analysis, and budget forecasting.
– Implement FinOps tagging and labeling standards across GCP resources to support chargeback, showback, and optimization.
– Configure Cloud Monitoring alerts for quota exhaustion and cost anomalies.
– Build metadata pipelines that feed archive management systems and support lineage, retention schedules, and lifecycle enforcement.
– Design, build, and maintain reliable ETL pipelines with strong data quality, consistency, performance, and reliability.
– Work with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver data infrastructure that supports both compliance and operations.
## Required Skills
– 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with production pipeline delivery and growing specialization in cloud cost management and audit/compliance infrastructure.
– Strong hands-on experience with BigQuery, including audit dataset design, compliance schema modeling, and Object Lock/immutability configuration.
– Experience processing GCP Cloud Audit Logs through structured pipelines, including log sink design, filtering, and continuous delivery patterns for MCP or equivalent workloads.
– Proven ability to implement Cloud Billing exports, build FinOps tagging and labeling taxonomies, and create Looker Studio dashboards for tenant-, project-, and user-level attribution.
– Experience setting up quota-exhaustion and cost-anomaly alerting in Cloud Monitoring, including alert policies, notification channels, and escalation thresholds.
– Familiarity with metadata pipelines that support archive management systems, lifecycle policy enforcement, and retention automation.
– Strong Python skills for pipeline development.
– Advanced SQL skills for large-scale querying in BigQuery and related GCP services.
– Experience implementing data quality checks, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
## Preferred Skills
– Experience with Airflow, Kafka, or similar orchestration and messaging tools.
– Familiarity with data governance, DLP policies, or privacy compliance standards.
– Experience with Looker.
– Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification.
– FinOps Certified Practitioner certification.
