# Controller:in Tech & FinOps

## About the Role

As Controller:in Tech & FinOps at idealo, you will act as a Finance Business Partner for the Product and Technology organization. You will support planning, budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing financial management while helping expand idealo’s FinOps approach.

The role focuses on improving transparency around investments, technical usage, and AWS, cloud, and AI costs. You will translate technical and operational data into clear financial insights, recommendations, and actionable measures.

You will work closely with the CFO, Executive Team, and leaders across Tech, Product, Platform, Engineering, and Operations. The position is full-time and based in Berlin.

## Key Responsibilities

– Provide comprehensive finance business partnering for Product and Tech, covering planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management.
– Develop KPIs, reports, forecasts, business cases, investment analyses, and scenario calculations.
– Translate technical relationships and cost structures into clear financial decision-making information.
– Improve transparency and management reporting for AWS, cloud, and AI costs.
– Establish FinOps practices together with Product, Platform, and Engineering teams.
– Identify, track, and support efficiency and cost-saving opportunities.
– Use AI in controlling for automation, analysis, anomaly detection, forecasting, and management information.
– Act as a sparring partner for strategic and financial decisions with senior leadership.

## Required Skills

– Several years of experience in controlling, finance business partnering, or financial analysis.
– Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
– Strong numerical and analytical skills.
– Experience developing KPIs and preparing business cases, investment analyses, and scenario calculations.
– Ability to analyze complex cost, performance, and business structures.
– Ability to communicate financial, operational, and technical relationships clearly.
– Independent, precise, and solution-oriented working style.
– Strong communication skills and a reliable, professional approach.
– Very good Excel skills.
– Experience with ERP and BI tools.
– Fluent German and English communication skills.
