## About the Role
The Cloud FinOps Engineer will play a crucial role within the Public Cloud Engineering – Cloud Center of Excellence at Smurfit WestRock. This position exists to enhance cloud financial management by overseeing the accurate processing and allocation of AWS accruals and month-end bill charges across all cloud accounts. The team is focused on integrating technology solutions that address complex business challenges, streamlining processes, and enhancing user experiences.
As part of this role, collaboration will be essential—working closely with various business units to ensure financial accuracy and accountability. The key objectives include optimizing cloud spending, maintaining financial governance, and employing best practices in cloud cost management.
## Key Responsibilities
– Process and allocate AWS accruals and month-end bill charges for cloud accounts accurately and timely.
– Collaborate with business units to provide insights on cloud spending and financial implications.
– Implement cost management strategies and best practices within the cloud financial management framework.
– Monitor cloud expenditure and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.

## Required Skills
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, or a related field, or relevant work experience.
– 4-8 years of overall IT experience.

– AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification preferred.
