## About the Role
Penlink is hiring a Cloud FinOps Engineer to connect the central FinOps team with business units, engineering, and finance. This role owns end-to-end cloud cost optimisation across AWS, Azure, and GCP, with responsibility for daily monitoring, anomaly detection, commitment management, and reporting.
The position supports assigned business units while partnering closely with engineering, product, and finance stakeholders. It also includes advising on new project designs to improve cost efficiency, supporting commercial procurement decisions, and helping teams build stronger cloud cost awareness.
## Key Responsibilities
– Monitor multi-cloud spend on a daily basis and investigate anomalies.
– Lead root-cause analysis for unexpected cost changes.
– Drive optimisation work, including rightsizing, RI/Savings Plans, AWS MAP, and architectural improvements.
– Manage Azure RI and RI/SP purchases across cloud environments.
– Provide commercial guidance on reseller agreements and procurement decisions.
– Build and maintain FinOps dashboards, KPIs, and automations.
– Own budget management, cost allocation, and forecasting for assigned business units.
– Run FinOps reviews with engineering, product, and finance stakeholders.
– Advise on new project designs with cost efficiency in mind.
– Deliver FinOps education sessions to improve cloud cost awareness across the organisation.
## Required Skills
– 3 years of experience in FinOps, Cloud Cost Management, or DevOps.
– Strong AWS cloud experience.
– Experience managing RI / Savings Plans end to end.
– Strong analytical skills, including Excel, SQL, and large-dataset analysis.
– Experience with FinOps tools such as Cost Explorer, Umbrella, Azure Cost Management, or similar.
– Solid financial acumen across budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, and allocation.
– Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
## Preferred Skills
– FinOps Foundation certification (FOCP / FOCE).
– Scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
– Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or QuickSight.
– Experience with AWS MAP or other cloud migration programmes.
– Experience with Azure and GCP.
