## About the Role

Dotmatics is hiring a Cloud FinOps Analyst to oversee the operational health and cost optimization of its cloud environments. The role is focused on understanding how the cloud infrastructure is built, how architecture choices affect spend, and how to translate that information into practical guidance for the business.

You will work closely with engineering, finance, and executive stakeholders to improve cloud cost visibility and support smarter decisions at scale. The role also involves helping engineering teams assess the cost impact of architecture decisions, both before and after deployment, and contributing to shared operational processes across the organization.

## Key Responsibilities

– Maintain a detailed understanding of the organization’s cloud architecture across major infrastructure components.
– Map architecture decisions to cost drivers and produce models that connect system behavior to spend.
– Identify cost anomalies, inefficiencies, and optimization opportunities across compute, storage, networking, and managed services.
– Build and maintain dashboards and reporting to provide visibility into cloud cost trends.
– Define and help enforce cloud governance practices, including tagging standards, resource lifecycle management, and rightsizing.
– Review architecture decisions with engineering teams to assess cost impact before and after deployment.
– Maintain runbooks and documentation for operational data management processes.
– Serve as the main contact for cloud cost and operations questions from engineering, finance, and executive stakeholders.
– Translate technical findings into business-focused recommendations.
– Collaborate on roadmap decisions that have infrastructure and cost implications.
– Support cross-functional handoffs and alignment on shared operational responsibilities.

## Required Skills

– 5+ years of experience in cloud operations, cloud architecture, or a related technical infrastructure role.
– Demonstrated experience analyzing and optimizing cloud spend at enterprise scale.
– Strong Python skills, particularly for data science and report generation frameworks.
– Hands-on experience with AWS or Databricks.
– Strong preference for multi-cloud experience.
– Solid understanding of cloud-native architectures, including containerization, serverless, managed databases, and distributed systems.
– Experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Datadog, CloudWatch, or similar tools.
– Ability to communicate technical findings clearly in written and visual formats for executive audiences.

## Preferred Skills

– Experience in life sciences, pharma, or regulated cloud environments, including GxP or 21 CFR Part 11 contexts.
– Familiarity with FinOps frameworks and cloud cost management tools such as CloudHealth, Apptio, or native cloud cost tools.
– Experience in a high-growth SaaS or enterprise software company.
– Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, or FinOps Certified Practitioner.
