Responsibilities and more:
Scope
Lead the standardization of OpenAI budget management by integrating OpenAI spend into existing cloud cost governance frameworks (showback, forecasting, reporting). Partner with Cloud Economics and R&D teams to drive cost visibility, accountability, and operational efficiency across AI/LLM investments.
Key Responsibilities
– Standardize OpenAI budget management within existing cloud governance frameworks.
– Integrate OpenAI spend into Datadog, Stitcher, and core cost reporting systems.
– Automate reporting pipelines and cost alerting mechanisms.
– Use AI/LLMs (including OpenAI) to generate automated, context-aware explanations of cloud cost drivers.
– Define AI usage best practices (virtuous patterns and antipatterns).
– Implement a proof-of-concept target/budget tracking system with Observability and Cloud Econ teams.
Requirements
– 5–7 years of experience in FinOps / Cloud Cost Management.
– Strong AWS experience (preferred).
– Experience with cloud cost tools (AWS Cost Explorer, Apptio, CloudHealth, Cloudability, Kion).
– Strong SQL skills.
– Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts.
– Advanced Excel or Google Sheets proficiency.
– Experience with data transformation and analysis.
– Exposure to ML environments.
– Hands-on experience with LLMs and OpenAI.
– Mandatory: Technical FinOps Certification.
