# Senior Cloud Finance Engineer
## About the Role
Peraton is seeking a Senior Cloud Finance Engineer to support the DOL ITOM program. This role focuses on reviewing cloud architecture from a financial perspective and translating those reviews into accurate cost estimates for cloud resources.
The position is designed to improve cloud spending visibility, support planning and forecasting, and help teams make financially informed decisions. It works across finance, IT, and engineering to align cloud cost management with broader business and budget objectives.
In this role, you will also develop recurring financial reporting, build chargeback models, and track budget utilization through fiscal year projections and burndown analysis. The work supports cloud governance, cost control, and informed decision-making across the program.
## Key Responsibilities
– Participate in cloud architectural reviews and provide financial analysis to support cost estimation
– Prepare detailed cost estimates for cloud resources
– Produce monthly financial reports covering cloud spend, usage trends, and optimization opportunities
– Design and implement chargeback models for cloud cost allocation by business unit
– Develop fiscal year spending projections and maintain burndown charts
– Identify cost savings opportunities and recommend optimization actions
– Analyze cloud spending patterns to support strategic decisions
– Collaborate with finance, IT, and engineering teams on cloud financial planning
– Support compliance with financial policies, cloud governance frameworks, and industry best practices
– Use cloud cost management tools and Excel to monitor, analyze, and report on cloud expenditures
## Required Skills
– Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience, master’s degree with 6+ years of experience, or high school diploma/GED with 12+ years of related experience
– U.S. citizenship
– Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
– 5+ years of experience in financial or business analysis
– At least 3 years of experience focused on cloud cost management
– Experience preparing cost estimates for cloud resources
– Experience participating in cloud architectural reviews
– Experience creating chargeback models and fiscal year projections
– Strong understanding of application architecture, design, and networking for cloud-hosted applications
– Experience building and modifying complex Excel workbooks and formulas
– Understanding of scripting and object-oriented programming is encouraged
