## About the Role
Join the Information Technology Performance and Partnerships team as a Specialist, IT Financial and Capacity Management. This role supports the planning, analysis, and optimization of IT capacity, budgets, and workforce resource utilization so the organization has the right skills, talent, and funding in place at the right time.
The position brings together IT financial management, budget planning, resource capacity modelling, workforce analysis, and workforce insights to support organizational priorities and effective execution of the IT strategy. It works closely with IT leadership and interfaces with Human Resources and Finance to help guide decision-making.
## Key Responsibilities
– Assess workforce and IT capacity by reviewing supply versus demand, usage trends, and future workload forecasts.
– Lead planning, monitoring, analysis, and reporting for all IT financial resources.
– Oversee operating and capital IT budgets, track performance against approved targets, and analyze cost drivers, trends, and risks.
– Coordinate and support the development of annual operating and capital budgets by consolidating inputs across IT functions.
– Perform monthly and quarterly budget tracking across all IT cost centres, including labour, software, hardware, cloud services, maintenance, telecommunications, security, and project-related spending.
– Analyze IT cost structures to identify major drivers related to labour, licensing, infrastructure, cloud consumption, cybersecurity, and vendor services.
## Required Skills
– Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, human resources, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
– At least 5 years of experience in financial budget management and analysis, workforce planning, capacity management, or a related analytical role.
– Understanding of IT functions, roles, capabilities, and operating models.
– Ability to influence and partner with IT leadership, Human Resources, and Finance.
– Ability to interpret complex workforce and financial data for senior-level audiences.
– Ability to handle sensitive workforce and performance-related situations.
– Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and communication skills.
## Preferred Skills
– Experience in organizational development, engagement, or planning tools.
– Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
– Demonstrated experience analyzing complex datasets, building dashboards and reports, and turning data into actionable insights for operational, financial, and strategic decision-making.
