# Cloud FinOps Specialist

## About the Role
We are seeking a Cloud FinOps Specialist to oversee financial governance, cost visibility, budgeting, forecasting, and optimization across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) within a regulated federal environment. This role is critical for enhancing cloud financial management processes and ensuring compliance with established standards.
The Cloud FinOps Specialist will collaborate closely with Finance, Engineering, Procurement, and Cloud Operations teams, focusing on developing technical recommendations and financial strategies. The primary goals will include monitoring cloud spending, identifying savings opportunities, and ensuring alignment with FedRAMP HIGH and NIST 800-53 requirements.
## Key Responsibilities
– Manage financial governance and FinOps across GCP and OCI.
– Monitor and analyze cloud spending, budgets, forecasts, and cost trends.
– Build cost dashboards and leadership reports using GCP/OCI and third-party tools.
– Identify savings opportunities through rightsizing, committed-use discounts, and architecture optimization.
– Establish and enforce cloud tagging and cost-allocation standards.
– Develop unit economics and cost-efficiency KPIs.
– Configure budgets, alerts, and anomaly detection to prevent overspending.
– Provide technical recommendations and financial strategies for cloud environments.
## Required Skills
– 5–7 years of experience in FinOps, cloud financial management, or cloud operations.
– 3+ years of experience in technical team leadership.
– Strong hands-on experience with GCP and OCI cost management.
– Proficiency in GCP billing, cost allocation, and committed-use discounts.
– Knowledge of OCI cost analysis, budgets, compartments, tags, and annual commitments.
– Experience optimizing costs related to BigQuery, Compute, Storage, Exadata, and Autonomous Database.
– Strong understanding of cloud tagging, consumption-based billing, forecasting, and multi-cloud governance.
– Proficiency with tools such as BigQuery, Looker/Looker Studio, OCI Cost Analysis, Cloudability/Apptio, and Kubecost.
– Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
– Experience in FedRAMP HIGH / NIST 800-53 regulated environments.
– Ability to develop technical standards and provide direction.
## Preferred Skills
– FinOps Certified Practitioner or similar certification.
– GCP, OCI, AWS, or Azure certification.
– Experience in Federal Government or regulated enterprises.
– Active Public Trust (High-Risk) clearance.
– Experience with VM images and technical documentation.
